Not sure it works like that really. Getting another player that fits Maddison's profile won't be easy or cheap

We should be all over Barella if he is available, he would be the perfect upgrade for Hojbjerg.

It will be too rich for Levy though, which is why we will never achieve anything under these owners.

If we signed someone like Scott for half price it could be like signing Maddison before he joined Leicester.

If we want the same Brenford or Brighton model we have to accept we are buying via data lead stats. That means signing potential more than the end product.

All depends on budgets I guess.

I get what you're saying but Scott is 19 right? He's still developing. Could have hit his potential already, and if it doesn't work so we just end up with another out on loan forever until he walks? At least with a 25/26/27 year old you can see what they are going to be like. It's just whether they adapt.

On budgets, I'd take this Italian keeper if it means we get the Maddison deal done right away

Never heard of that keeper

Is that a good thing?

This Vicario stinks of a Levy cheap alternative because he balked at the asking price for a PL proven first choice GK

Part of the benefit with Raya is that he is homegrown. This as well as being PL experienced and good with his feet. It ticked all the boxes.

So in for Raya and Maddison only to probably end up with cheaper higher risk alternatives that don't tick as many boxes. All so very Levy.

Tonali to Newcastle for €70m

Cripes. Big move, I know he's highly rated

I get the principle of not wanting to overpay, but fackin'ell, £40m is sod all in this day and age, especially given the FFP headroom Spurs have - if Levy won't pay that then Spurs will never be able to sign a good Prem player again

I agree. When you're spending £60m on Richarlison you can no longer scoff at this sort of price anymore. £40m certainly isn't too expensive for a 1st choice quality player in a priority position. It smells like another crappy decision from the bald one.

Lets see what he is like in pre season. No way Levy drags this out surely? It's underwhelming, especially after Raya agreed terms with us. He must be gutted.

Could always get Raya for free next summer lol

I get that people are FURIOUS that we haven't bought a player yet but Richarlison is a good reason to not just pay what they're asking because they're PL proven etc. Kulusevski came in much cheaper and done much better

I think we all knew that Richarlison was way overpriced though. I mean it's kind of baffling we even paid that much considering how much we are apparently baulking at other player's values this summer. £40m for Raya doesn't seem overpriced to me and he'd go straight into our first team. Richarlison was always seen as a squad player.

I'd rather we went for Lafont anyway tbh. Get the actual next Hugo

posted on 21/6/23

If the price being mooted was £100m I'd agree, look elsewhere. But Raya was one of the top keepers in Europe statistically last year wasn't he? £40m for a top-tier player isn't too much, regardless of position or contract. We're not just talking about a proven Prem player here, we're talking about one who's proven to be one of the best in the league

Giorgi Mamardashvili looks a beast tho. 6'6". 22 years old. Already a regular for a decent side in Spain and his country..

Rumor has it that Levy's second el Cheapo deal for next season is Guglielmo Vicario .
Now fans, ever heard of this guy?
He's your new Goal Keeper!
