I get that 60m is a lot for a player in his final year but that's the game now. We're demanding over 100m for our best player in his final year. Remember the value is set by the selling club, not the buying club. It's his value according to the team that owns him.

I'm just a bit sick of the fact that we baulk at 60m even though that should still be considered a bit of a steal for a player of that quality, yet we blow the same amount on Richy without batting an eyelid.

This club is truly fecked in this new age of inflated fees. If we operate like Brentford and Brighton, expect to finish where Brentford and Brighton usually do, which aside from last year is pretty much middle to lower table. That's what we aspire to. Remember that. Tottenham Hotspur. Feck me.

Whilst Arsenal offer near on 100m for Rice having finished 2nd last year, we drop to 8th and still don't act seriously.
