At some things, at others he struggles - I guess the issue is that the things he struggles at (using the ball well under pressure particularly) will be an issue in every position on the pitch in Ange's setup

An eventful few days at Tottenham
2 new signings 🤝
Romero wants to play v United 💪🏻
Looking at potential mid options 👀
Davies & Gio hamstring concerns 😞
Also says Madders back to training next week apparently.
Romero has perked up, wonder why? lol

not for me. thought he had no idea at all what he was supposed to be doing positionally, especially against Brighton and City (very good attacking sides in fairness)
he can do a job in games like Burnley where we dominate the ball and all he has to do is win duels on the counter. but whenever the opposition has forced him to defend his own box he's looked clueless

ah, to have a manager that tells his board signings must be done quick to allow settling and preparation.
2 years of bliss.
now back to, the windows open, lets rush it through on the last day cause we are whanks.
Pretty sure every Spurs manager in living memory has told Levy (sometimes publicly) that they need signings in early
For some reason Levy has listened to Ange though

I get your meaning, but I don't see Levy thinking that way. There's no way he can be forced out of his position so I don't see any reason a hard-headed businessman like Levy will feel any actual pressure.
The only pressure he'll get is if Spurs start losing money, but I get the sense he probably won't see buying early vs buying late as being a huge factor in that overall picture

Levy owns the saloon. If Ange doesn't work out, on to the next until Levy wants to walk away. His way.
I think Ange's straight talking is on Levy's level. Poch always spoke in riddles and broken english. Nuno was a stop gap. Conte was cray but he did back Jose too. Another good talker.
Interesting thread on Dragusin. Let’s face it, we were all desperate for him to come but I doubt anyone here has actually seen him play 😂

imagine it's because our recruitment process has improved so we were ready to go with a list of options - when we realised Todibo wasn't happening we could instantly move on to Dragusin for example
and Ange being a much more flexible, not holding out for one specific player, turning down every other suggestion like Poch did

That we’re even getting excited over poxy f*cking loan deals just shows how low our expectations have become under Levy.

I love Pochettino more than most but even I recognise he'd gone weird by the end, and his record of picking players was pretty ropey. Obviously he wasn't helped by the restrictions he was put under financially but he did give the green light for some very poor players.
Nowadays I get the sense he's just not at the cutting edge of coaching any more, and I'm glad Spurs opted for Ange instead
