Jeez!!!! 😳 These guys are in for a serious shock when they see him kick a ball. Nice guy, works hard but he’s so, so limited. Might suit the Italian game though. He’s decent when he doesn’t cross the half way line.

Apparently we have a fully fit squad!

I would say after January Transfer Window, we can then start fairly judging Ange as he's technically had 4 windows to shape his squad

Yes it won't be his squad entirely, but in theory it SHOULD be nearly there or there abouts

In the ideal world we could do with another winger, CM, LB LCB and may be GK.

If these are to improve the squad then they wont be cheap, so i would expect another summer window is needed.

The Jan window is often underwhelming because we know our budgets now, and they wont be much different in Jan so there isnt necessarily more money to spend then (although we'll know at that point if were in the Europa ko stages) and availability of players is often limited.

Good points.

Its something that levy has never grasped IMO.

With Kane at his peak, and Son, i always felt that we had to strike then, otherwise we risk losing his best years or him completely as our project took so much time...and if you think that peak Kane was mainly under Jose and Conte, the best part of 4 years, what a waste that was.

I think if Levy could undo any decision it would be sacking Poch...given how much we have been setback since, i dont think we could have done any worse keeping Poch, despite the poor long term form we were suffering.

What have we done since? a decent & exciting run-in under Conte to get 4th.

That's if he makes it to the Jan transfer window. If we're not doing well by then, let's say struggling in mid-table somewhere (7th to 10th) then the club and fans may lose patience. To be honest, he's a good number of new personnel to work with and that would have been a decent amount of time to have imprinted his style of playing on the team.

wtf is this narrative? If we sack Ange because we're 7th at Christmas we're facking facked

Well I did say struggling. Obviously if we're 7th and not far off top 4, in good form, with still plenty to play for in the other competitions, it's different. If we're 7th, a lot of points off top 4 and in mediocre form, then it's not a good look. I only gave 7th to 10th as a rough example, but we're not going to be happy if that's where we finish. Levy will already be disappointed we didn't get top 4 last season so we know what his patience can be like.

Ange needs to get us on an upward trajectory after the way things ended last season.

If we're doing well he'll probably get a new contract

Winning football matches

Sorry yeah. Winning more matches than he's not winning

Very simple way of looking at it.

We should be looking at top 4 now or a trophy and with it more improvement on our style of play and the defence. Personally I'd prefer the trophy if we had to pick but ideally try for both.

I think it's fair to say if he does well we'll be happy and if he doesn't we won't. If he wins a trophy we'll be delighted

Firing a manager for not finishing top 4 when we don’t pay top 4 wages sounds sensible

If we doubled everyone's pay, would we improve as a team

Casemiro is on £250k a week at United. Perhaps we could get him to boost our wages to Top 4 level

If we paid players more we'd attract (and retain) more better players

Wages have correlated to league position throughout history across leagues. Much more so than transfer fees

I do not deny that correlation but i think it is more complex than that, you have to take in the respective wealth and budgets of teams. Bigger teams can afford more, so will pay more and likely generate more success, meaning they can pay more still.

I would expect there to be a similar correlation between teams revenues and wages and success.

The bigger you are, the bigger and better you can afford and the more success you get....but it all starts off with what you can afford and what your budgets are. A bit of a natural order of things.
