True enough Ace, obviously he could still play as a winger. I'm just thinking that we'd have sent him somewhere where he'd play as a forward if that was the plan. Jose seems alright with Doherty at FB so yeah I think it's on.

RE: transfer policy I like Chris' idea but one experienced player coming in could leave us a bit light, especially in midfield.

i like him, be great if he could do a job deeper. hes played quite far forward and his finishing and ability in the final third (aside from running with power, ironically like Sissoko) abysmal from what ive seen.

Yeah I seen RLC has been playing as a number 10 or in a midfield 3 but I reckon he'd be solid as a B2B. It's redundant anyway

I would be fine if that was our only big loss in the summer. Getting on a bit now and has made a few mistakes in recent seasons, although been good since the restart.

Pope as a replacement would be good.

Pope a good fit for a Jose team but would be worried about he translates to a team under a more progressive manager

I guess we can worry about that when the progressive manager is in place. It's not like we don't need a decent number 2 anyway with Hart there.

I'd still prefer Pope or Henderson (if we can get him, which I doubt) out of the ones in the league. Good way to improve the HG status.

It does make me sad to imagine Hugo at another club tbh - surprised how little is being said about the fact it seems like the club captain is going in the summer. Barely a mention on these boards

I like Pope as well and that would be such a simple HG fix. Hugo still has 2 good/great seasons in him - feel he gets underrated as he loves a month of shiiiit form that people remember him by

I didn't realise it was actually happening, just seen the story on BBC. It'll be a sad day when he goes but I think it's time.
