It’s not ruining the game, but the negatives outweigh the benefits imo.
------
You're right. That just your opinion

No one is emotionally incontinent for having an opinion, and you could argue the opposite for people who think the pursuit of correct offside decisions to the exact millimetre suffer from something similar.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
An opinion can be borne out of or heavily influenced by emotional incontinence. Nobody is saying having an opinion is the reason for emotional incompetence.

No one is in the pursuit of correct offside decisions to the millimetre, that's just hyperbole. The pursuit is for more accurate offside decisions, not perfection or millimetres. Perfection is not the purpose of VAR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well many of the decisions people are annoyed about are exactly that - millimetres.
-------
How does that mean that there is a pursuit of decisions to the millimetre? That's just hyperbole by anti VAR dudes, to put that responsibility on VAR and then say its failing.

You either respect people’s opinion and discuss or you don’t. There’s a credible opinion that VAR brings more harm than good - nothing emotionally incontinent about that in itself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People failing to pay respect to opinions is your opinion

Personally I haven't seen anyone failing to pay respect to opinions.

And there we go.

This will be blamed on me, despite the fact that I was making perfectly reasonable comments until Robbing became involved.

Standard stuff.

With the greatest of respect, you seem to go out of your way to engage in an argument. Just an observation. 👍

They should give each manager a single VAR call to use during a match and let the refs get back to reffing. Start paying the premier league refs £15,000 a week. It would lift the standard for sure.

VAR is even ruining soccer Saturday accumulators for me these days, with pauses and corrections. Fans aren't even able to celebrate goals these days due to the spectre of VAR
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This will mean every game has two VAR interventions as you can bet your bottom dollar managers will be using their allocation. This can also mean incorrect decisions due to no more VAR interventions being allowed. Not a good idea, for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd settle for scrapping VAR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We would have lost today without VAR due to two incorrect decisions so I'm definitely against that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is so wrong it beggars belief.

If you concede a goal like the Wolves one, you haven’t conceded it because the attacker gained an advantage by being offside. You conceded it through a combination of good attacking and bad defending.

And that’s a big part of the problem here.

VAR is bringing huge negatives to the game in order to solve something that really didn’t need solving. Completely against the whole point of the law and the game itself.

Not surprised to see you here defending VAR though TOOR, fine when it goes in your favour but corrupt when it doesn’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is not wrong at all. Tell me which part is wrong.

If there was no VAR used in yesterday's games there would have been two incorrect decisions. As it were we had VAR and those decisions were overturned and we won the game. Whether you believe there was an advantage or not is irrelevant to what I said. The laws were followed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s wrong because it’s not the ‘offside’ that caused you to concede.

I appreciate you don’t see it this way though TOOR so it’s probably not worth going round in circles again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say the offside 'caused' us to concede a goal. I said it was an incorrect decision, that VAR got correct. So the officials got two decisions wrong which both went against us and they were corrected by VAR. How anybody can see this as a negative is beyond me. Of course apart from bitter rival fans who want to see Liverpool lose even if the decisions are wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well clearly you’re incapable of understanding the alternative view, as usual, so it’s pointless discussing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no alternate view. The officials got two decisions wrong and they were overturned by VAR. What's the alternate view? They didn't get them wrong? Is that what you're saying?

No, I hold such an opinion as it's not just this thread it is the majority of all threads I see you on. You just seem to thrive on arguing, but to the point that you go round in a circle presenting the same argument in different forms.

Then when you can't gain an advantage in said argument you resort to ad hominem to taunt whoever you are engaging with. Anyway, I am not getting involved any further but I think you should take a step back and no when to walk away, that's all. 👍

My comments on here were perfectly reasonable and Robbing decided to make it personal.

Which is what happens on most threads that end like this. I can take my share of responsibility for arguing back but I’ve tried ignoring and filtering and these people still derail threads.

Ultimately if posters like Robbing were able to just discuss the subject like an adult without making things personal then this situation would rarely occur and my post history will back that up.

Pages and pages of explanation for the alternative view have been written and you yourself say that it’s beyond you as to why.

I’ve taken time to understand your opinion and I do appreciate why you feel the way you do, but I disagree.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I can only repeat what I’ve said - if that’s what you think happened here then you’re either being disingenuous or stupid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your last paragraph is hilarious, you say you want an adult discussion yet in the two posts back to me you've called me not bright or stupid. This is exactly what I am talking about. Ad hominem. For the record I was speaking generally, not specifically. Anyway, I'll leave you to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, I said I thought your were being disingenuous actually.

But sure, make up what you like to fit your agenda.

It’s all Winston’s fault.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or not bright and then called me stupid. Can't have it both ways. I've said nothing personal other than point out that I think you're argumentative, which proving quite true.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Calling an opinion ‘emotionally incontinent’ is failing to respect that opinion in my view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a stupid view.

If an opinion is borne out of emotional incontinence in your opinion, then you are free to express that opinion without bring accused of not respecting that opinion.

People who accuse you of not respecting other opinions because you are of the opinion that that other opinion is borne out of emotional incontinence are actually not respecting your opinion.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the explanation. Great stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The pleasure was mine and you're welcome.

Also, I wanted to send you a card to wish you success in the final and also a happy new year. Just need your permission as I've got the address already.

Well my point is that the only way anyone can interpret it in the way you have is if they’re being deliberately disingenuous or stupid.

I don’t think you’re remotelt stupid which is why I made the point, so apologies if it came across that way.

Just for further clarity, I think you seem like a decent poster and am disappointed in your comments here.

I don’t believe anyone looking at this thread objectively could see me as the cause for this but hey ho, it’s become the norm on here thanks to several Liverpool fans.
