They should give each manager a single VAR call to use during a match and let the refs get back to reffing. Start paying the premier league refs £15,000 a week. It would lift the standard for sure.
VAR is even ruining soccer Saturday accumulators for me these days, with pauses and corrections. Fans aren't even able to celebrate goals these days due to the spectre of VAR
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This will mean every game has two VAR interventions as you can bet your bottom dollar managers will be using their allocation. This can also mean incorrect decisions due to no more VAR interventions being allowed. Not a good idea, for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd settle for scrapping VAR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We would have lost today without VAR due to two incorrect decisions so I'm definitely against that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is so wrong it beggars belief.
If you concede a goal like the Wolves one, you haven’t conceded it because the attacker gained an advantage by being offside. You conceded it through a combination of good attacking and bad defending.
And that’s a big part of the problem here.
VAR is bringing huge negatives to the game in order to solve something that really didn’t need solving. Completely against the whole point of the law and the game itself.
Not surprised to see you here defending VAR though TOOR, fine when it goes in your favour but corrupt when it doesn’t.
Those who say VAR is not the problem and it’s jusy implementing the rules are talking utter nonsense.
VAR is absolutely the problem.
For the most part, it’s a system that solves things that don’t need solving and harm the game in the process.
For every blatant offside error it fixes there seems to be another 10 that it ‘fixes’, which have absolutely no bearing on the events on the pitch.
People who think it’s of value to correct a ‘mistake’ where an attacker’s little toe is beyond the last defender really have lost the entire point of what football is about.

Liverpool get every decision go for them. The luckiest team in the Prem by a countrymile.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s funny some headcases actually believe this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had similar ludicrous comments when United were dominant.
I don`t mind VAR, but it shouldn`t just be for the benefit of Liverpool, who already get an extraordinarily amount of decisions go in their favours, from Refs that are afraid to make decisions against them.

More correct decisions with VAR than there were when it was just the on field ref’s objective decision.
Surrounding of refs is a largely redundant measure these days.

Well why reply to that particular comment with an irrelevant comment then?
And it’s not ‘end of’, actually.
Because arguably those correct decisions are not worth getting to if the system is ruining the game.
People saying it's ruining the game are emotionally incontinent.
In it's first season it's a bit slow but to say getting decisions correct is ruining the game is daft.
Correct Robbing.
Winnie, certain teams used to surround refs including Man Utd to try and obtain an advantage, can’t think you’d deny that, it’s a largely redundant act these days re those major decisions.
Guess you’ll just have to get used to things like offsides being implemented to the millimetre.
Just like everyone else.
It’s not ruining the game, but the negatives outweigh the benefits imo.
No one is emotionally incontinent for having an opinion, and you could argue the opposite for people who think the pursuit of correct offside decisions to the exact millimetre suffer from something similar.

Liverpool have surrounded referees just as United have done - my point was only that those who used to claim that refs were biased to United are just as stupid as those who claim the same about Liverpool today.

I don’t think we’ve seen any real evidence of that to be honest - most of the controversial decisions are still heavily subjective and so referees decisions aren’t overturned.
I may be wrong but not sure many penalty decisions have been overturned?
Ultimately, better teams should benefit more from right calls because they generally have more of the ball in key areas, more of the time.
It’s always been that way and there will always be a proportion of opposition fans who claim that the best team get preferential treatment.
