The decisions were correct, same with Pukki yesterday, but Im not enjoying how VAR is being rolled out atm really.
Im not sure what the answer is though.

It's pretty simple - they should incorporate soft signals like in rugby, tennis and cricket. Ref makes the initial call and then checks it if there's doubt. As it is, the refs are just absolving themselves of any agency and leaving it entirely up to VAR, and that's a shambles when the computer measures it to infinitesimal detail which has no practical impact. And then build in an "umpire's call" margin for error.
My question is how Liverpool never seem to get any injuries to their key players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you don't think Alison, Ox, Matip, Salah, Fabhino, Lovren, Shaqiri are key players?
Very odd viewpoint
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Alisson, Salah, Fabinho yes. The others no. How long have those three been out this season? I remember Alisson missed a handful of games early doors and Fabinho is injured now. The Fabinho one struck me as notable cos I couldn't remember many others.
Anyway, it's not a criticism so I don't know why you're getting so defensive. Clearly the players are well looked after, or presumably the scouting team scrutinise their condition well before giving the go-ahead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Alisson missed 10 PL games and most of the CL games.
As time goes on it is becoming more and more clear that VAR is just another tool to influence games in VARpool`s favour
I think it has been terrible for the first season. They held off introducing it so it would be more robust, yet they have learnt nothing from the leagues who introduced it earlier.

They should give each manager a single VAR call to use during a match and let the refs get back to reffing. Start paying the premier league refs £15,000 a week. It would lift the standard for sure.
VAR is even ruining soccer Saturday accumulators for me these days, with pauses and corrections. Fans aren't even able to celebrate goals these days due to the spectre of VAR

Salah though? It certainly seems like the front 3 have hardly missed a game between them for a couple of seasons. Whatever the reason it certainly always seems to me like Liverpool's match-winners pick up far fewer niggles and form-interrupting absences than other teams.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough, that's a lot more than I thought
Salah though? It certainly seems like the front 3 have hardly missed a game between them for a couple of seasons. Whatever the reason it certainly always seems to me like Liverpool's match-winners pick up far fewer niggles and form-interrupting absences than other teams.
Could be I'm wrong though, it's easy to pick out reasons to discredit teams I don't like, especially when they're so comically far ahead of the rest of the league
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes which is the case this season when people keep saying we don't have injuries when in my opinion we've probably had more than anybody.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I mean, presumably there's some injury table online somewhere which has the objective truth on the matter. I certainly don't care enough to find it myself.

15K a week isnt going to get rid of all the bias and corruption
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We should fire Billy out onto the field to ref and see how he gets on. I'd pay 15k to see that. Liverpool would have no players left on the pitch.

It might help. You can have a ref earning £1,100 ruining a game where world class players are earning £200,000 a match and having goals disallowed or subject to general refereeing incompetence.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This will mean every game has two VAR interventions as you can bet your bottom dollar managers will be using their allocation. This can also mean incorrect decisions due to no more VAR interventions being allowed. Not a good idea, for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd settle for scrapping VAR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We would have lost today without VAR due to two incorrect decisions so I'm definitely against that.

I agree. Pay more and give more training. Also consider refs from other countries if the standard isn't high enough.

Over a season the best team should win the league and things generally even themselves out. Football is definitely losing something as a result of VAR.
