Wahl has a point tbf. If you're all so confident it'll be played to a conclusion is there really any need to keep repeating it?
Nobody is allowed to have a discussion or alternative opinion without Liverpool fans jumping all over it. Its bad on here but it's 100x worse on Twitter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's not true. Why can't any fan, Liverpool or otherwise repeat their opinion on here? Seems a funny thing for other people to care about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How is it not true?
Not only is it true, it's also getting boring now.
Would be easier to just open one live thread and keep it all in there. Though even then you can pretty much guarantee that all fans of teams with something still to gain will say it should or will be completed, fans of teams with most to gain by voiding it going with that option, relegation threatened teams' fans saying it will definitely be null and void and the rest of the 50% of footy fans actually putting across objective opinions.
I can pretty much guarantee what any persons opinion on the issue will be based on the team they support.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You cant guarantee that at all. Dont start lying.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I said pretty much guarantee, and yeah, I can. As can anyone else who supports a team that won't be affected either way by whatever decision is made.
If you can't see why that's a piece of p-ss then you're probably a bit stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I see your data? Can I see the study and numbers? Your guarantee means sweet fa and you have rolled it out in a tired attempt to reinforce your own opinion which you seem to elevate above others. You cry about liverpool fans yet I've seen you on at least 3 maybe 4 articles peddling your opinion and crying about smaller clubs. What's the difference?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Glad you mentioned the smaller clubs as most people tend to ignore my replies on that subject as, as is usually the case when talking to the fans of the bigger clubs, it's a case of "I'm alright, Jack".
I'm not so myopic that I can't look at the bigger picture in all of this and realise that this whole thing is even more of a problem in the lower leagues. It's something I care passionately about and will make no apology for. Maybe it's down to over 25 years of actually getting off my backside attending games in the bottom divisions and seeing how the money side of football negatively impacts a plethora of clubs, as opposed to supporting a trophy team from the comfort of an armchair or a bar stool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hows the view up there? Look forward to more repetitive posts from you, the ones your cry about others posting...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, you've got nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from pointing out your hypocrisy. Dont need much else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I don't need anything from someone whose overall knowledge of English football could be written on one of my nipples. Ta-ra.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, you've got nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok plastic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So that's what you've resorted to. I was in Madrid last year, watched my team play in Germany, France and Italy. Been to Middlesbrough, Stoke and Portsmouth, so all around the country but because you support a smaller team, I'm a plastic. Weak.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm the last person you want to get into a d-ck waving contest with on that subject
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't. You called me a plastic. I haven't once questioned your support or games attended etc. I responded to your lazy jibe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I'm asking out of curiosity rather than testing you, but which foreign grounds have you done?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To watch us, Marseille, Dortmund and Rome.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice. Planning on doing Dortmund next season (whenever that might be), also got a mate who supports St Pauli so I'm hoping to knock that one off at the same time. I was supposed to go to Marseille in 98 for the WC but I ended up in hospital so missed it (though it might have been a French hospital I ended up in had I gone out there )
Done over 100 English and Scottish grounds but only 73 of the current 92. Might make a concerted effort to tick the rest off when it returns.
I apologise for the plastic comment. You're right, it was a lazy jibe.

Voiding the season has been taken off the table by Uefa, the FA, and PL. I really don’t see why people think it might happen now, just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Re closed door games, unfortunately for now it looks the only way to get this sorted
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its definitely possible. Things are changing all the time and no one really knows what will happen. I think you are very likely to be right but never say never.
I don't see a completely fair way to resolve this so just hope they do it with the right reasons and not just money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Money talks I’m afraid.
As previously discussed with Champers on this I just hope they stay consistent throughout the pro leagues and keep to the original formats.
However I think they will ditch the playoffs and just promote/relegate the top 3 bottom and top teams
If all the money people say it has to be played I guess it will.
Behind Closed doors will be a joke and could turn up all types of results as it will be training ground stuff and away teams will love it I would think.
With such terrible things happening plan for next year take whatever Void throws at you and start afresh next season.

I really hope they don't go that route though, your last paragraph I mean. I think that opens up a greater legal minefield than a null and void EFL. So many teams are vying for that prize either through automatics or the play offs across all 3 leagues, and I hate the idea of somebody gaining something they haven't actually achieved.
And whilst this is just my opinion, I honestly believe that if the top 3 in the Championship were Huddersfield, Millwall and Luton instead of Leeds, West Brom and Fulham, there wouldn't be anywhere near the level of clamour for that idea as there is currently. The media have a serious hard-on for Leeds at the moment.
I think relegation threatened teams (in the top 6 tiers) who have more home than away games remaining will fight tooth and nail not to have remaining games played behind closed doors.
Why should any team accept losing the advantage of a partizan home crowd when their opponents had that in their favour several months earlier in the reverse fixture? I can see any decent lawyer making mincemeat out of the football powers that be over this issue.
This won't be the relatively easy solution that some folk think it will.
There is no possible solution that is fair. That's the issue

A good point and one our fans have raised a lot on our own club forum. Things like penalties wouldn't have the same pressure on them either. Managers always talk about how players have been slotting them away for fun in training, but it never replicates a big match scenario.
I don't like behind closed doors games anyway, as football is nothing without fans and it's generally only ever been used as a punishment in the past.

Regardless of our opinion on what we think should happen they're running out of time to make a decision. The end of June marks the end of player's contracts, sponsorship deals etc

This issue doesn't seem to be bothering the football powers that much.

I wonder if thats because of the rumours Sky will not demanding a rebate of the TV money? If they, BT and not sure if Amazon will be involved ask for way lesser fee or waive the right for a rebate then the Prem clubs will be ok financially. They will still lose out of 5 matches of revenue but compared to the TV money it will be alot less money....

I think that concerns me more than anything. Either they've got a trump card up their sleeve or they're just putting their fingers in their ears and shouting 'la-la-la-la-la" in the hope of just ignoring it and hoping it doesn't become an issue.

It's also probably got something to do with UEFA threatening to ban leagues that void their season from European competition. Though obviously they can't if the top 3 or 4 leagues vote to void.
This is all in negotiations still, anyone claiming that there's an 'obvious' solution, or that anything is 100% off the table is deluded or has an agenda. It'll be fascinating to see how all this plays out. The human tragedy aside, obviously.
At this point I’m only really noticing Spurs fans calling for it not to be finished. Any specific reason for that?

There’s no valid reason not to finish the season behind closed doors as soon as it’s safe to do so.
As a Spurs fan we don't really have much to gain - either way we'll be sheit for a while. This break has allowed Kane and Son to recover from injury though, so if the league restarts we'll actually have had an advantage.
If it's voided we get another crack at the CL but there's nothing to say we'd do any better. It'd be hilarious watching the Liverpool fan's meltdown though.

A big valid reason is fans should be in attendance in any football match.
That’s why I’d rather wait and finish in correctly

Those calling for the season to continue aren’t gaining anything. League titles, Europe, promotion and relegation would’ve been earned had the league carried on. The same if the league continues. It’s not gaining anything.
Those calling for the league to be voided are looking at their clubs gaining CL football again or another lucrative season in the PL.
It would be completely unfair to relegate or promote any clubs under these circumstances, there are too many inconsistencies and variables to retain any integrity.
As yet, nothing is decided and how can you consider it right and proper when teams left, right and centre are either unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged.
The whole thing is one giant mess, by far the safest, most sensible course of action that causes the least detriment and headaches is to cancel the season and start again after a clean break.
If the money men have their way, we will end up with a season remembered in history for all the wrong reasons.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I really hope they don't go that route though, your last paragraph I mean.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I only think that because the powers that be might wanna to get this concluded asap. However again money talks and the playoffs will generate massive viewing numbers so will most likely happen.

Regardless of our opinion on what we think should happen they're running out of time to make a decision. The end of June marks the end of player's contracts, sponsorship deals etc
------
This issue doesn't seem to be bothering the football powers that much.

You and I have discussed this to death mate, but I'm still none the wiser as to what's going to happen.

The same reason the teams with the most to gain are calling for it to continue I suppose. Not really hard to work out is it?

I agree 100%, at Premier League level at least.
Fans of Southend, Oldham, Macclesfield, Accrington, etc, might not share that viewpoint though.

I know, you would think the copious number of Norwich, West Ham, Villa, Bournemouth, Watford and Brighton fans on this forum would have plenty to say about it.
