It will be behind closed doors and the season will finish, end of story. No Liverpool hating agendas, the season must and will end. It has far to much money and legal issues riding on it. If it gets void, you honestly think the likes of Leeds etc are going to take it lightly ? So, this is not just a Liverpool thing. The season will end. Anyone wishful thinking that Liverpool are going to be denied a title and Spurs magically given last seasons CL place are living in cloud cuckoo land.

You say there is too much money riding on finishing this season not to complete it but what about the amount of money at stake if a whole season is lost?
If football can't be played until late summer then there is a no way the whole 20/21 season will be cancelled in order to get a quarter of this season done.
Its got naff all to do with whether you support Liverpool, Spurs or Swindon its simply that 1 is greater than 0.25. Lower divisional clubs are struggling enough without losing all of next seasons revenue.

Yup, no way are they going to trash a whole season, just to keep a couple of clubs happy this season. Give it say to the end of June at the latest, and if nothing has started, then just call it a day.
Even the end of June to get this season going again, is going to seriously mess up next season. Players can barely play one game a week, yet they may be called on to play two, three games a week for up to a year, if all this seasons competitions are to finish, then go straight into the Euros.
“ Players can barely play one game a week,”
Weird. Could’ve sworn, before all this, you regularly saw players play twice, and sometimes 3 times, a week. Unless Sandy is rambling about the 50’s again.

If it starts late summer then unless the teams play 4 games a week it isn't getting done by Aug 29th.
Remember City and Utd have 19/18 games left to play (potentially) and with it being a Euro season the start date of next season will have to be pretty rigid.
With every passing week completing this season gets less likely.

The CL will probably be altered so that it is single legs, that will get rid of some games. There has been suggestion that this season could be completed, have a couple of weeks break and then begin next season.
Seems to me if the season cannot be finished by June 30 when alot of players who are out of contract then it should be voided. Those players can sign for new clubs. If the remainder of this season cannot be finished by June 30 and Sky and Bt agree not ask for the tv money back then this season will be voided.
I've said many times that whilst behind closed doors games aren't an issue for the top leagues, it isn't going to be the case for many lower down the pyramid. Andy Holt, the Accrington chairman, has said that behind closed doors until the end of the season would cost them up to £500k. He's pushing to end the season now, with a pools panel style format deciding the rest of the games. I expect plenty of other chairmen in the same boat as them will be feeling the same way. Only those chasing promotion will have an opposing view I imagine.
Not sure I like the panel idea as there'll be clubs near the bottom who very much fancy their chances of saving themselves and could be relegated on the back of the opinions of a few blokes in suits.

I agree. I think Holt is just trying to find a balance between finding a way of finishing the season so as not to punish clubs in good positions whilst at the same time safeguarding the finances of clubs who just can't swallow those losses.
He has also said that contracts ending WILL be an issue. They will definitely be losing players on 30th June and are not willing to offer any new deals to anyone until they know how next season is going to look.
Regards streaming the games, I think he is against that as for their home game against Sunderland, if 600 Accrington fans paid for a stream and 10,000 Sunderland fans, each club would receive money from their own fans, so the profit share for their home games will benefit the away team far more.
These are just the views of one EFL chairman. I'm sure others will have theirs too, but if the EFL think behind closed doors is going to solve everything, then they're more than a little out of touch with the opinions of a few of their member clubs.
The desperation of all these Mousers (and Don) to finish the season is there for all to see. Even though this season has basically now lost all meaning, is unable to completed 100% fairly and can not possibly carry any credibility.
Why would any club want their name associated with this tainted season, it will be remembered in history as the blackened season affected by Covid-19, an asterisk will be against 2020* forever. There will always be `what ifs` and `if onlys` associated with it.
Desperate times.

Well, they have to be seen to be doing all they can to finish the season, they can not be seen to be canceling the season prematurely can they.
Every chance will be given to complete the fixtures, the money men will be demanding this, even though the integrity of the entire season has been compromised and can not be completed 100% fairly.
Eventually they will run out of time, everybody knows what the most sensible course of action to take is, but fans of clubs with something to lose are just desperately trying to justify ignoring this.
I just hope the money men are not allowed to compromise next season also, as the integrity of the new season should not be affected for the sake of an already stained and compromised old one.
You can not change the rules of any competition half way through and retain any integrity or meaning.

You talk about integrity and fairness, well how is it fair that clubs like Sheffield United etc who are having a fantastic season, lose out on a CL place to Spurs who have been horrendous this season? I’m a Spurs supporter and as passionate as anyone, but I would feel it’s completely harsh if the season is void and last seasons positions count, meaning Spurs get a CL place and teams like Leicester / Sheff U don’t because the season was void. You seem to perceive “fairness” with whatever suits you’re agenda.
Voiding the season arguably loses the most integrity out of all the options.
The Premier League will NOT be voided.

Oh look, another conspiracy theory. So they're not looking fo the best option, its just that they don't want to look like they rushed to void the season?
They sat there and said hey let's cancel the season but let's first have this elaborate operation to convince people we didn't rush to close the season. Brilliant idea.
Please stop embarrassing yourself. If voiding the season was the best option, they'd have done it by now and if at any time in future voiding the season becomes the best option, they still won't void it IMO, they'll call it.

Remember City and Utd have 19/18 games left to play (potentially) and with it being a Euro season the start date of next season will have to be pretty rigid.
With every passing week completing this season gets less likely.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You say there is too much money riding on finishing this season not to complete it but what about the amount of money at stake if a whole season is lost?
If football can't be played until late summer then there is a no way the whole 20/21 season will be cancelled in order to get a quarter of this season done.
Its got naff all to do with whether you support Liverpool, Spurs or Swindon its simply that 1 is greater than 0.25. Lower divisional clubs are struggling enough without losing all of next seasons revenue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If football can restart in late summer then this season will definitely get finished. They're looking at playing the CL final at the end of August.

The new season will and can get delayed by a few weeks, it really isn’t a huge deal. The country is slowly easing out of lockdown from June, so what makes you think the premier league and football can’t start late summer ?

From what I have read, Billy has said this will happen. Then a few of us are saying it's a possibility, along with other options.
You then keep replying saying it won't happen and that we are all wrong in saying it will, even though most of us are only saying it's a possibility.
The circle goes on.

what I don't get is Uefa, the FA, and PL have said the season will be finished but some folk won't accept it

No way can you have a pools panel deciding result, total nonsensical. It either finishes properly, or not at all.
