ok I have seen a few people trying to push the narrative that the protesters are violent etc.
Yes violence has taken place but do not pin that on the protesters. Everyone is watching we see the outside instigators of violence leading to the looting and burning. We see the level heavy handedness being used by cops which is infact escalating rather than the escalting the situation.
The whole world is watching so the govt/media can try to spin it all they want, those that want the truth can see it. Most importantly, the world is watching. Never again will america be seen as the custodians of liberty an excuse they have used for foreign interference. This is sad thing for some, good for others.
Imagine america rebuking china for its treatment of HK citizens
VC, you just don’t seem to understand why the protests are turning violent.
....
This is where you are wrong. I understand it and empathize with it.
The problem is it does more damage to the cause than it does good.
I will go back to the Baltimore one again. They are still, years later, trying to rebuild the community that was destroyed by violent protest.
What did it achieve. Nothing. Because here we are again.
Now onto the George Floyd issue. The first protests which were peaceful led to or at least forced the FBI to conclude their investigation which led to the cop being put under arrest under a murder barge.Rightly so.

The Black & Latino Caucus of NYC Council released a statement requesting "white, priveledged far left 'act ists' to please stop hijacking peaceful, lawful protests, causing chaos an destruction and putting the lives of people in danger. Then retreating to their priveleged enclaves to see how many likes they got on tik-tok. Please do not destroy peaceful protests and leave the people who are directly affected by police malfeasance on a daily basis to make change just like peaceful endeavor ended the city's stop and frisk era. We got this"

exactly what I have been seeing too (although i will admit I am not sure of the motives of this instigators)
although if the police were to take a cooperative we hear you, we understand you rather than antagonist approach to the real protesters. It will be so easy for them to apprehend/stop the instigators. The people that want the instigators there the least are the demonstrators.
But in many cities the police have chosen to lump the instigators and protesters as one. I wonder why

It’s extremely hard to turn off the tap of emotion. And that is the problem. It’s really not just about Mr Floyd. It’s the knowledge that these things will keep happening to black people long after the protests die down but in the meantime the emotion is fuelling this. It’s not ‘wrong’ to be doing what they’re doing because it goes beyond what is right and wrong. It’s emotion and when you understand that you’ll understand why it’s not as simple as saying ‘they should stop rioting because they charged the cop’.

It hasn’t been about him since the arrest.

Sadly that is what we are dealing with and it won’t improve under a Republican administration.

This is where we differ. It is wrong because it is against the law. It is wrong because it doesn’t achieve anything and it is wrong because it is their own communities and their own people that they are damaging.

If you can think of how it will help please let me know.

I will say Robb does but hey I am jus one person
I imagine a new post is coming on the anonymous / trump /antifa revelations even if half of what is being said is true. I have a lot to say on this but will leave to someone else or at least until I am confident I can separate facts from fiction without letting it distract from the current issue

Violence is wrong in a 'free' society. Yes there serious issues but violence doesn't help a cause imo. Voting does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It plays into Trumps rhetoric on immigrants which is how he views all non white people whether they are US Citizens or not.
And violence will not achieve anything.

No one is saying it will help them but your ignorance is that you don’t understand the only sane and logical reaction to this is rioting etc
Once you understand why they’re rioting (and really understand) then your first thought won’t be ‘it’s wrong to riot’. You need far more companion than you’re showing. If you keep beating a dog (apologies for anthropomorphising the people involved) then it will bite you. Try and let that sink in.
VC and Cal I am about to head out so forgive me for ignoring you response if you do bother
Everyone wants to label the protesters violent, I disagree and have given very detailed arguments as to why they are not so not point sayingiit again
Why are you so confident civil disobedience will not bring about change but want civil obedience to maintain the normal which is oppressing some but has clearly benefitted you as much as you will like to deny it.
You pretend the law is an unchangeable entity rather than what it is the spoils of the victor. While blacks will never win against a united America not all white Americans are united in allowing oppression. Let alone in the world is watching. What is trump gonna do kill all black people?

I understand it perfectly. I see more news on it over here and see it more in the communities that I drive through fairly regularly than you do.
My view is that it isn’t going to help them. Especially with a racist in charge of the country. It feeds him and his ilk even more. Once you understand this you will understand me.
