If Lester had finished top 4, yes I would say that is overachievement and Lester are underdogs.

If Wolves had finished top 4, yes I would say that is overachievement and Wolves are underdogs.

I cannot say the same for Chelsea. I'm shocked that some people can.

I can't believe the same people that laughed at us losing Hazard and having a transfer ban now say that it was expected we came top 4. Shocking. A front line of a rookie striker, an experienced veteran who was sold by Arsenal as he was behind Welbeck in pecking order and Batshuyai getting top 4 is an achievement. Throw in blooding 5 home growns on a regular basis plus another 3 here and there over the season and that makes it an overachievement. Even the OP predicted we'd be 6th.

Last season we finished with 66 points and finished 6th.
Chelsea 72 points and third.

This season, we finished with 66 points again and claimed 3rd.
Chelsea same - 4th.

This league has gotten worse, but still impressive for us to claw back the points.

And also still impressive for Chelsea but also not a massive shocker that they managed 4th.

Lampard has done well overall this season, good and bad moments. Same for Ole.

Chelsea will have a fantastic transfer window, I doubt we’ll match it, so let’s see how next season plays out.

Just because people predicted Chelsea would finish 6th, doesn’t mean they should have. You can’t judge young players until they’re given the chance and they’ve proven to be better than expected.

This is exactly what I’ve been saying, but they won’t have any of it.

I think he's done a very good job considering at the start of the season they had just lost their best player who they couldn't replace due to a transfer ban. Considering the other big boys and Wolves and Leicester have had the opportunity to spend and improve, Lampard's done a good job and got some consistent performances out of the likes of Mount, Abraham and James which is key for any young player.

I'd like to see how well they do next season with a couple of new players, I still think they definitely need a new GK and a couple of top defenders to win the league, but I think they'll be closer.

We have not had Kante available much this season. Pulisic out for long periods. Loftus Cheek out for over a year. Hudson odoi was going well before his injury. Batshauyi has been Batshuayi all season. We sold Hazard with no chance of right that wrong. The main squad players we had are a year older, Willian Pedro Giroud Caballero.
I think Franks dione fine for His first Season, now we have got a couple of good young foreigners in to help our youngsters, means Frank will have to show more stability in performances next season. Its not ideal to beat city convincingly one week and the get hammered by sheffield utd the next.
City will improve but whatever Pool do it will be impossible to recreate this season, we lost 12 games in the PL if we can reverse half of those thatll give us 84 points and a large step to the title year after next.
If we can convince Oblak to come in and Gimenez i will be quietly confident, if they cost 130mill together we should be ok for funds with loads of players to go.
Barclay, Moses Bakayoko, Van Ginkel Christensen plus others. Big wages being saved on Willian and Pedro.

forgot Drinkwater too, we also have funds from the sale of Hazard and Morata.
