Its boring. I bet 99% of all fans agree with me.. go and watch paint dry
I did check the control stats on espncricinfo not too long ago and whilst not a perfect way to read how they are doing, Sibley was at 94% with Burns at 79%. It just puts a little gauge on how they are coping with the conditions and reading the pitch. So whilst he looks very awakward, that also suggests he is not fully comfortable out there but he's battling away and you can't ask for much more.
The good news is that when he gets more comfortable, he'll play a few more shots and get the scoreboard moving compared to Sibley who will happily plod along at his own pace throughout.

I don't know about anyone else. but i want England to be an attacking team.. That goes after the opposition. The mentality is what has cost England in the last 5 years.
there is no way Australia or India would allow a spinner to bowl.
Really good from these two, picked up the scoring a little bit. Just important not to get stuck in the crease more than anything. Now to survive until lunch...

The thing is even though we were 40/3 we were still going at 1,2 an over.. We managed to bore ourselves then get out. A bit more intent at least the score would have moved a long

The Bayliss era was all about attacking cricket. Sure there were some fun counter attacking performances at times from the likes of Root, Stokes, Bairstow, Moeen and others who would score an aggressive 50 or occasional 100. However that would end up getting us to a score of say 300-350 and often below. Jimmy, Broad and the other bowlers would then bail us out time and time again.
Scoring 400 under Bayliss didn't happen too often which is a change that Silverwood has already brought in. Big first innings runs is so important in winning test matches.

I can only assume you've made a conscious decision to delete the Bayliss era from your memory.
Don't blame you tbf
You realise the whole point the openers bat slow is to tire the bowlers so the likes of Root and Stokes can then be the attacking players you want?
67/0 and some still aren't happy, deary me.

Good morning's cricket. Literally zero complaints to be none down at lunch.
Honestly, you'd think Cook and Strauss were swashbuckling darters, the way some people complain about the run rate

Overcast - NZ gonna batter us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Takes a brave captain to win a toss and bowl first with the sun due out shortly and hot weather due over the 5 days.

Had I not said this we'd be all out by now
