I think the high back lift in the game as ruined test players.. Only the best can get away with it. Whats wrong with standing with the bat next to the toe and playing straight. not trying to play of the back foot..

England always do this in the first test of a series. Loose shots, daft wickets falling in clumps. They're so slow to recalibrate to the pace of Test cricket.

Look at the averages on the players in the top 6.. apart from Root and Stokes who is improving. The rest of them their averages are poor. for the main reason they are not up to it.

This is a county batting line up v a test bowling line up.

Admittedly we're missing a couple of big players but this has been a horrendous perfomance bar Root and Burns.

They are not, because they will always fail.. get the odd 50 and odd 100. But over all. They aint up to test level.. The standard of county cricket is pathetic.
I know you can only judge players on the standard of the set up they play in. But the standard is poor.

How would you want us to line up v India? There aren't many batsman I want in the team, would rather players like Woakes and Ali than Pope and Lawrence. Similar level of batting but also good bowlers.

This team is rubbish.

When you make the same mistakes over and over again. without improving it shows the real truth. they cant improve.

All England have to do is bat another session and get closer to the NZ score.. less chance of a result then. since theres only 4 sessions left in the match

My issue is the top 3 or 4 batsmen , you can't go into a ashes series without a settled batting line up, it's been changing every game the last 2 years, they don't seem to know who to throw in next

Not much they can do if people don't perform. Crawley, Sibley and Burns have all got runs over the last 12 months and kept their place. This knock will guarantee Burns place for the rest of the summer. The selectors can't do much if Sibley gets 3 low scores the rest of this series.

They can, drop him, put somebody else in, dont we have any more cricketers, poor state of affairs if you have to stick with players that aren't scoring runs, only in England cricket would you get away with that
