I have seen some horrendous dismissals in my time. But that Crawley one was the worst..

Really don't we have any other batsmen in this country? Is it about hope that these eventually make it, how long will that take? you can't send these out against the Aussies, lambs to the slaughter
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We don't have any #3s. That's kinda well known by now, we've not had a reliable one since Trott. Crawley's the latest in a long line who have been tried, and none have succeeded yet really.
Bracey bats at 3 for Gloucestershire I think, but he doesn't seem like the answer for now. Hopefully Hameed keeps scoring, and Rob Yates develops.
Yet again it feels like Root's the obvious answer, but he doesn't want to bat there...
Curtains for Crawley .....

It was bad, but the worst?
At least the crowd aren't deterred by England's collapse
Edgbaston is a great ground for cricket.

Oh yeah it was like 3ft wide of the stumps and he dabbed the ball into the slips hands. there was nothing.he didnt even try to even hit it hard. It was basically slip catching practice they do in the morning.
To be fair Stokes should just bat at 3 and settle for being an occasional bowler. Best technique in the side, able to handle pressure and he'd relish it.
That would open up a middle order spot for our droves of dashers too
We need Yates or Hameed to follow through on their potential.

Doesn't Crawley average under 20 if you take out his double ton?
Barring a big second innings that should be him back to county cricket.
He is far too loose for this level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was saying just before the game started that Crawley feels too similar to James Vince for me. There's certainly ability there but he's not a test 3.
I think England will look at Hameed, Bracey or possibly Malan as an option for the 3 slot for the India series.

... Hello is that the sweeping statement police... I need to speak to someone
I wouldn't be against Malan getting another go. Crazy talented batsman, and I seem to recall he showed a fair bit of grit when he played in Tests previously even if he didn't score massively.
Root's gone. Oh good.
Jesus this is a predictable as ever
Yeah I've often thought Stokes is the answer, but then he probably bowls too much sometimes.
I definitely don't want to see Root move anymore. Bat your best player where he feels most comfortable and then build the side around him.
Like i said. bat slowly and still get themselves out.. Its always the case. This is England cricket team. Are garbage.. Apart from Anderson Root Stokes and Broad the rest of them are talentless crap
This is a team of boys, were are the men?
As I said they are into the tail now. All out by tea.

He did well in the Ashes so perhaps its right time to get him in again as he was successful there last time. Yorkshire played him at 3 the other day and he scored 199 although that's been his only innings of the summer. I'm pretty sure his record has been decent for the past few seasons in first class cricket too. Obviously been playing T20 for England of late so been around the international set up.

I did see a comment saying this side's combined average is 241 and considering Root averages 49 of those, it's not looking good.
