Of course BLM is a divisive political movement. It’s supposed to be. It’s combating the very concept that institutional racism doesn’t exist when there is so much evidence that it does. Funnily enough, people don’t like being told that the very foundations on which their society is built is unfairly balanced towards one set of people. So let it be divisive and hopefully enough people wake up to the idea that something needs to change to help people who would be left to suffer if the people who are ignorant to the realities of the world are allowed to meander into apathy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a happy co-incident that the founders are all trained marxists and have set BLM goals that align with a Marxist approach of undermining the West then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, you really misunderstand the whole idea of what they stand for.

This is your friend ^^
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So to summarise, yes the founders are Marxists
----------------------------------------------------------------------
BLM Founders living in x million dollar mansions surely can't be Marxists ... Perhaps opportunists at worst.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Marxists are like socialists, they all want to share their misery until they hit it big that is.

As I awoke one morning,
when all new things are born,a robin perched upon my sill,to greet the coming dawn,
I arose and listened for a while,
and then slipping from my bed,
I slowly closed the window,
and crushed it's f'kin head .

Sorry about that lads,I love robins,but can't stand f'kin wokes !

In what way?

Can you explain what ‘wokeness’ is in your own words, and why it is akin to a plague, please?

Quite telling how the voting on here has gone.

Reminds me of Brexit. People screaming racist at people when they don't agree.

In essence, a plague cares only about itself.
Virtue signalling doesn't count. in the real world

So you’re arguing that ‘woke’ people only care about themselves?

Agree I feel like sadly it’s got to the point where it’s actually doing more harm for reducing racism than good, it’s just turning into constant arguments and debates about taking the knee every game. We are not talking about reducing racism anymore and how we can tackle it it’s all the talk about the knee and if it’s right or wrong every single game every single week

And as I said originally I think it was good but now it’s just turning racism or making it look like a joke which it shouldn’t be and is totally wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Racism will not end before we stop talking about it all the time.

OP

Evening mate.

Scotland did not take the knee today, but will take the knee against England.

So, does that mean racism went away today, but is back Friday?

Importing American identity politics and gestures from a Marxist group calling itself BLM is not how we counter racism, imo.

Support kick it out, Respect, and oppose racism.

No need for taking a knee or copying political movements in the States in football.

I don't agree with it. I want to see players doing something a bit more meaningful to combat racism without the fanfare.

Hopefully we can enjoy the summer and enjoy the football without the politics.

We need to get behind the team and stop the booing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The booing is wrong, imo, but not aimed at players, rather the act of kneeling and politics behind the group BLM.

It’s run its course, time to stop.

I would however support a gesture that’s uniquely British/English
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seconded.

Morris dancing.

Millwall linked arms and issued equality statement, so fans cheered that.

The players can hold hands, do a little dance whatever they like to fight racism but taking the knee is linked to a devisive political movement no matter what anyone says and should stop.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Links to the political movement "BLM" has been used by those who have sought to undermine the anti-racism message. Taking the knee goes back to the civil rights movement in 1960's America.

Not really fussed if players take the knee or not but booing your own football team before kick off is somewhat bizarre. I'm sure it will really spur them on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How common knowledge is that? In recent history its indisputably linked to BLM.

And people have to come to their own decision as to whether BLM is a politically motivated organisation or not.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This, with respect to wwspd.

A few racists perhaps, but vast majority of football fans would not agree with the politics of BLM group, so importing American politics to the UK is shoehorning at best, divisive at worst.

Taking the knee is seen as part of an America race politics issue, between police and the black community and was imported into sport in the UK, where black people are not shot and murdered by police and where there is no segregation, as seen in America civil rights era.

That does not mean racism is not in the UK or aimed at footballers, but copying what America and an extremist political group do, at uk football matches, is absurd, if analysed.

And when black players say taking the knee has run its course or is demeaning and divisive, perhaps we should listen to those voices?

BLM movement supporters align themselves with flag burners, those who want to rip down Churchill statue and label white people as racist or privileged, those who berate and hate anything British or English, and then folk wonder why British and English working class football fans do not back gestures that emerged from American BLM activism???

That does not mean fans are racist.

It just means they are not supporters of group BLM and taking the knee gesture......why import American politics to local football?

Finally, lol...Republic took the knee against Hungary, while Hungary players simply stood and pointed at the Respect badges on their jersey.....nuff said.

Link arms, hold hands, issue anti-racist statement etc, but no need to kneel or copy American and BLM politics.

Stop being racist would be good too.
