I get wanting a bit of revenge at Bumrah but madness if that's seen as the priority over actually trying to win the game.
He should catch that. Wouid be a good catch but Bairstow is a superb fielder and he would expect to hold that

100%. Especially when Wood is off injured so we’ve lost our most hostile bowler. Idiocy.
Not a dolly but Root should have caught it.

Bake em, sorry pal, horrendous experience getting in the ground. Hope you enjoyed the gameNext time I get an invite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you not manage to get in?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We did, only just in time really. Probably should have envisaged problems getting in and left a bit longer in hindsight to be fair...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope you enjoyed it still mate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you too, will buy you a pint or 4 next time. We were above the City fans so maybe not far from you.

I think with Root, Bairstow, Buttler and Moeen at 4-7, they'll still fancy the chase but we turned down chasing 273 off 70 overs against New Zealand a couple of months ago so we won't want them to get too many more or bat for too many more overs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one has considered Sibley and his run rate.
No way are we winning this now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we're going for the chase, Sibley will surely be a bit more proactive. The way Burns bats might give us more of an idea though but I sense we've probably reached the point where we won't go for it.
I said last night a lead of 230 will mean enough time has passed where it will be very difficult to chase this down. 70 overs left now and you take away 2 for the innings change. Required run rate is getting pretty close to 3.5 an over now which is a huge ask on the final day. Might be closer to 4 by the time we get a bat.

It was a dolly IMO
Surprised India haven't declared to be honest.
230+ runs in 2 sessions is a huge ask, but I also can't see them bowling us out in 2 sessions on what's quite a flat wicket.
You'd think they'd want 5/6 overs at us before lunch.

Ah right
'2 wickets and we've got Shami'
England fielders harping this yesterday.
This is poor but you have to look at Roots drop and say those are the chances that take the game away from you. Our catching so far in this series has been abysmal.
Woeful from Root and Silverwood. Just tactically incompetent.
A potential classic is now a drab draw (unless our batsmen collapse to give the day some entertainment)
No chance of England winning this one now. We're not chasing 250+ from 60 odd overs even if we go bang bang and wrap this up.
England out of this game… kohli should have declared and put England in for 15mins before lunch
This is literally disgraceful.
England chances are eliminated, Its India vs Draw with draw been the favourite
Tbh even India fans didn't expect this tail to wag
India batting on is doing us a favour at this point
What a beating from the tail
Root as a captain is so inept
