I’m only listening not watching, but from comms it sounded like the ball stuck in the pitch and so he was through the shot early and it looped up off a thick edge. Is that the case? If so, it doesn’t sound like he played it wrong, but it’s facking typical if they get more gremlins out of the pitch than we could

Hameed and Sibley to race along at 5 an over for 20 overs and really get this run chase going. Come on boys!

Its the 4th shot of the innings. His shape was poor. You have a point in terms of it slightly holding up but he's trying to play a leg side stroke on a ball not suitable. It's just not acceptable given the circumstances.

Possibly, it would explain how he got it wrong but yeah, always the case when fired up bowlers come in fresh on what seems like a placid pitch, they seem to make things happen.
