Like most people, I’m only interested in the half time entertainment, thought this years was pretty good, but not as good as Prince in 2004

Really like the sport, hate the half time show and smug American celebrities.

If you thought that was shiiite, don't try watching baseball either

Half time show was great but that’s because I’m a big fan of most of those artists particularly Dre and Eminem However I watched that bit back this morning.

Tried watching it once years ago but it’s an awful game imo.

I found the game, halftime show, Ads and all the other hoopla far more entertaining than watching Spurs-Wolves

Baseball has absolutely none of the things the OP is complaining about, so you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

American Football.

Definition: A two hour advertisement, occasionally interrupted by ‘sport’.

American Football is a good watch once you get into it. Also like their draft system from college. This way, teams that were poor (Bengals) can then challenge. Makes it more interesting than having the same teams challenge for the EPL

The sport might be good, I have no idea but my problem is I can't really see past the American smugness and the 'glamour' of it all. Makes me hate a sport I might have ended up liking. I can't tolerate it. I have to work with Americans a lot and they're just as bad. I just think my quota of them is overflowing. It's too much.

Oh, and don't get me started on Halloween. That's become massive and completely killed any interest in fireworks night and the whole Guy Fawkes meaning.

I love NFL and no matter what you think, the Super Bowl is one of the biggest events in the world of sport. You only need to look at the demand for tickets when it is over here to see how big it is getting.
I also love the presentation of it. They have got it spot on with the game day programme that Sky do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
While it may or may not be great the demand for something isn't necessarily a good measure. Humans are spectacularly retaaarded in that regard with complete dribble like Mrs Brown's Boys and the Kardashians being popular

Titanic and Avatar were popular too. Popularity doesn't mean good. In fact it invariably means the opposite.

Not renewing my Spurs Season Ticket 2 years ago and finally getting a Giants Season ticket has been a great trade. Even though the Giants are crap there's competitive balance to the sport which makes it far more entertaining than the PL

Say what you like about Americans but they laugh their asses of watching Brits etc making a fuss about who comes 4th !!!!! Who really cares.. Win or Go Home !!!.... Cultural difference I guess

True.

Americans mostly seem a lot less nuanced than Europeans.

Yeah and no relegation. The part these morons can't grasp is that avoiding relegation is 'winning'. They think it's all about first place but there's grey areas to what winning actually means, but Americans don't even understand irony. They're not going to understand the nuances of sporting merit.

Saying Americans don't understand irony is a really weird, dated stereotype that wasn't even true when it was first coined.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It might be lazy but I'm sticking with it. Alanis Morisette, admittedly Canadian/American, wrote a bloody song called Ironic and nothing she listed was even remotely ironic .

"10 thousand spoons when all you need is a knife" is just bad luck. It's not ironic. The irony would be if she were a knife salesman and couldn't find one.

Well we're going down the wide open door of subjectivity but I will say that this season, the NFL has been immense in terms of games going down to the very last play, teams progressing through to the playoffs and even the final was between two teams that weren't fancied. Sport for me needs an element of drama on a regular basis and this season had it all the way through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on..... Whether you like the Sport or not is purely opinion but this seasons post season has been the best in the history of the Sport. The NFL has never been in a better position. Brilliant competitive balance with fantastic young players, Young coaches starting a whole era (Post Brady)... Can you say the same about the premier league ?..... Don't think so
