Ed was more hands on with the football side of things. Arnold has already been quick to stay away from that side of things.

If indeed Arnold is more hands off then it's a very good move on his part. Let people who know the game make the decisions, he and Joel can simply sign off the cheques
In reality though Joel will probably have more say, hopefully not to the extent Ten Hag is impeded or lumbered with signings that are more statement than beneficial to the squad / team
There’s little evidence that Joel Glazer is imposing signings on the managers.
Where has it come from that Glazer and Ed used to decide transfer targets ?
Didn't Joel Glazer block the sale of Martial a couple of seasons back

Exactly why you need a strong and experienced manager with a good team around him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why does it require such a manager and team in order for the exec to be supportive?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because there is supportive like, Hey i've signed Ronaldo for you! - and then there is supportive like, so which players would you like me to sign for you?
and there are managers like....ooh, thank you Mr boss man for signing CR7 for me, and then there are managers like, i dont want CR7, I want Vlahovic. CR7 will not fit in to the system or lead the pressing that i want a new striker to do.

I think at least partly from the signing of VDB. I mean, he didn't seem to be an Ole signing, as he never played him. So who made the decision. Before that I would have found it hard to believe that the manager wasn't the one having the final say, but after we signed him, I wasn't so sure.

And which one of those is Ten Hag, based on your obviously extensive knowledge of him?

True. Summising, that is all.
There’s no indication that was a signing forced on the manager by Joel Glazer. Ole couldn’t take Ronaldo’s diiiiiick out of his mouth for a start.

Juventus are more or less where they were last season - 4th place, though slightly closer to being in a title race than they were last April. And given that until January they had neither Ronaldo nor Vlahovic, it's maybe early to conclude this was a bad decision.
The galactico type signings over the years do smack of Woodward and glazer interference.
There’s a ton of evidence that Ed meddled in transfer dealings under each and every manager since Fergie.
LVG and Mourinho have talked about it, players have talked about it, and there have been numerous leaks.
How much Joel had to do with any of that I have no idea, at all. But competent ownership would have seen Ed completely cut out of any transfer or contract business other than putting pen to paper when being presented with documents on signing day.
I’ve not mentioned Woodward, I’m talking specifically about Joel Glazer. Every CEO in football is massively involved in transfers at their clubs, that’s not an issue in itself it’s the fact that Woodward is a facking clown that’s the problem.

Ed made the signing of Ronaldo in Gary Lineker's back garden
