Jeez...you do need spoon feeding so here goes. I have made the position that people need to apply commonsense, take precautions and look out for those who may be vulnerable....we don't need the beeb screening us from nice pictures in case it encourages to abandon commonsense.
----
Take this trivial woke nonsense and cancel culture somewhere else. You're too easily offended by anything and everything.

The things people get offended by these days is a joke. Bring back the good old days.

The BBC didn't show sunny photos in 1976 and nobody moaned about it. People took it like men.

We now live in the offended generation.

A most credible take by Devonshire on this article ,I don't often say that, but well said sir .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a sharticle harl. Anyone with kids, a dog or elderly relative will know how uncomfortable this week will be
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes Nick ,like many others I also have children, and a dog and cats and also elderly relatives ,and to me it boils down to common sense, and remembering what our parents told us years ago when we also had hot summers ,stay out of the sun, drink a lot of liquid and don't be bloody silly ! and speaking of my old dad,a most gentle and humane person you could hope to meet, even he says "gawd blimey these bleedin' politicians stating the bleedin' obvious as if they invented it "
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it’s really not rocket science.

Wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and stay out of the sun if needed. Why people are trying to create panic is beyond me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well exactly!

No need to not show lovely pictures of sunshine, incase it encourages idiots to go out and enjoy it without taking very simple, obvious but necessary precautions.

Look after your pets, and your elderly relatives ...do people need to be told to do this? or am i giving the average person too much credit?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But it’s not for the average person through, is it? It’s for people like you….
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why me? I have already said i don't need telling what precautions to take in hot weather.

Are you one of those idiots that does need telling? You clearly struggling readings, so i guess may be!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course I’m not, obviously you struggle with your own reading, as well as your typing. Best not throw aspersions around about other people’s intelligence if you can’t even compile a sentence yourself 👍
----------------------------------------------------------------------

wow! picking at a typo now. The last refuge of someone losing an argument.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What argument do you actually think you’re winning?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jeez...you do need spoon feeding so here goes. I have made the position that people need to apply commonsense, take precautions and look out for those who may be vulnerable....we don't need the beeb screening us from nice pictures in case it encourages to abandon commonsense.

You have suggested that I'm the sort of idiot who needs spoon feeding commonsense.....which is the actually the complete opposite of my original post and subsequent comments....and I highlight this and your come back is that I committed a typo and therefore am an idiot.....great comeback btw
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually you targeted the ‘average person’, which is why I doubted your intelligence. We’d already established that it’s not aimed at the average person so you’re contradicting that point. The typo was just confirmation that you’re probably not above ‘average’.

Most up to date model:

https://www.wetterzentrale.de/maps/GFSOPME06_59_48.png

People living in Northeast England will experience temperatures 10C hotter than they've ever experienced in their homes. If you don't think that deserves awareness and health warnings from authorities you're mad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I actually think the thing that he’s most offended by is the weather girl not showing pretty summer photos.

Just heard the tannoy at Old Trafford telling the cricket fans to make sure they stay hydrated using the water points. Devon will be fuming about that.

How did we manage in 1976?
No snowflakes in the good old days.
STFU and get on with it!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read this slowly

The highest temperature recorded in 1976 32.5C

Which is quite warm but nothing like what we can expect next week

Facking chump
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh dear.
It's clearly a ''chump'' fest.

It is every time you post, chump

sensible advice....unlike Dont look at these picture of sunshine because it's too serious a situation to look at your images of the sunshine.

It's weird how you can't even understand the reasoning yet think you should make an entire post about it. Most people don't emabrrass themselves by openly showing off their lack of understanding.

You've changed your tune:

'Do the people of this country really need to be told what to do in these circumstances ....and if they do, then, well, natural selection will take care of them'

Devon, maybe by not showing pictures the BBC is encouraging people to get off their ar$e$ and get out in the fresh air.

I understand the reasoning. Its gonna be very hot, people need to be careful and sensible. I question the need for the morbid tone of the news presenters as if we were to all meet our doom shortly, and the protection of the public from viewers pictures of a sunny day because this matter is so serious they cannot show a photograph of a sunny view.

Basically questionjng whether the average person needs their hand held like this to get through life.

Who on here will admit to not knowing that such high temps are dangerous, that people need to be careful take precautions and look out for the vulnerable.....did you need telling and your hand held through this next couple days? Simple yes or no will do.

We have an electorate that (in large parts) still think Boris Johnson was a good PM and that we're better off under Brexit.

Of course they need to be told that high temperatures could be dangerous to people living in a temperate climate.

We should also bring back an adult version of the Green Cross Man - Perhaps make him Trans now.

posted on 17/7/22

Devonshire still hasn't got his head around the fact that society needs to move at the pace of the slowest. Mainly because he is usually the one we all have to stop for, so this is new territory for him.
