Within the context of the rest of their reporting yeah I think it makes sense. But it's not really relevant to the fact you think the decision was made because they don't want to...offend....people who don't like the sun?

Well seeing as they've spent all day telling everybody about the dangers and severity of the weather, if they ended all that with a weather girl saying "tbf tho it does look bangin" followed by a slideshow of people having a cracking time in the sun, it'd be pretty bad in terms of sending mixed signals to the public. So for the sake of delivering a consistent message it makes sense.

Now, do I passionately agree with their decision to preach such strict caution regarding the weather? No, I don't give a shiiit either Way. Unlike other people on this site I'm not going to pretend to be an expert in something I'm not and start giving my own takes on just how safe the weather is. So if you think in general it's an overreaction then whatever more power to you.

But thinking that their decision to not share photos of people enjoying the sun was done in the name of being "sensitive" rather than consistent is faaacking stupid

People who do not take the adequate precautions will die in the sun this weekend. This is the severity BBC are referring to. This is why they have not shown pictures of enjoying what will kill others, as it will appear as BBC showing no remorse or concern to victims of the weather. The definition of insensitivity. It’s both hilarious and embarrassing that you’ve gone on a long rant of nothingness to try and say otherwise
