Does make me laugh how by the looks of the article Devon calls everyone p*ssies but the only example of someone changing what they’re doing and being told is his wife. So is this article just Devon venting about his wife?

Astounding that there are so many people still in the world, like the OP, in 2022.

Read a book ffs.

If you don't understand something, for example the dangers of high heat is a country not set up for it, with people not used to it, read up on it, don't display your ignorance for the world to see.

Embarrassing.

There are a number of reasons why this is different to other countries who normally get these temperatures:

- We don't have air conditioning in our homes. Our hones are made to insulate from damp and cold, so are not the best for these conditions.
- The latitude of the UK and other European countries means that we see sun for longer in the day than equatorial countries this time of year, which means we don't have cool evenings.
- Our infrastructure isn't made to operate in this heat.
- People in this region aren't used to these temperatures. Bodies take time to adapt to different conditions.
- Behavioural aspects in hot weather are different here, as we are not used to such dangerous conditions. Therefore warnings are needed as it is not an innate behaviour. A bit like why warnings are needed in France and Germany.

If you need any further help with simple concepts, let me know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Concepts so simple that the country has to declare a National Emergency and be spoon fed advice.

We really do operate in a way the caters for the lowest common denominator.

Yep. Society can only move at the speed of it slowest, hence why everyone has had to stop to explain this to you.

It was hot last week my ways.

Most of the people complaining were dressed for autumn

The highlight was a 22/23 your old woman complaining about the heat whilst wearing a long cardigan thing. Was offended when I pointed that out. Apparently I was insensitive because she had a "fuller figure" and wore clothes that were "slimming".

A most credible take by Devonshire on this article ,I don't often say that, but well said sir .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a sharticle harl. Anyone with kids, a dog or elderly relative will know how uncomfortable this week will be
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes Nick ,like many others I also have children, and a dog and cats and also elderly relatives ,and to me it boils down to common sense, and remembering what our parents told us years ago when we also had hot summers ,stay out of the sun, drink a lot of liquid and don't be bloody silly ! and speaking of my old dad,a most gentle and humane person you could hope to meet, even he says "gawd blimey these bleedin' politicians stating the bleedin' obvious as if they invented it "

it’s really not rocket science.

Wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and stay out of the sun if needed. Why people are trying to create panic is beyond me.

You utter monster

The poor thing was suffering and you fat shamed them too

posted on 16/7/22

Fat shaming someone during a heatwave sounds fun but probably isn’t

posted on 16/7/22

OP, if you ever lived in London for a bit longer than a tourist would, you would know that anytime there is a beat of heatwave, TFL (London underground etc) hand out leaflets about why you should not be travelling?

It is funny af when foreigners come to this country and any heatwave or snow drops, and TFL is off with its leaflets about not travelling...

The Beeb have turned into ultra woke leftist sensitive snowflakes. They won't even show you a clip on the news of someone getting told off without preceding it with a warning saying "Some viewers may find the following scenes disturbing".

posted on 16/7/22

Why is it fear mongering to let people know it'll be the hottest temperature ever recorded and to take the necessary precaution?

No one is running around saying we're all going to die

posted on 16/7/22

Yeah I don’t get this whole fear mongering angle. They’ve just reported the coming
Weather. Up to people if they want to be morons or
Not

Sounds like they need to start putting a warning before their warnings for your sake

How is this not fear mongering? What is so severe that justifies people enjoying the sun being considered insensitive?
