I cant answer a blanket question.... give me a specific example?
Is the ref $hite or good ? thats the most important factor in me answering the question

Same way how an English ref could do a Scotland international game, but I don’t think you’d be approving of an English ref reffing an England game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
again I wouldnt mind.
what team a ref supports has no bearing on my opinion of him or his ability to do his job.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂😂😂😂😂
An entirely ridiculous position.
You’d have been happy with an Argentinian refereeing the World Cup final?
Or hypothetically, Scotland make it to a World Cup final. Huge moment, once in a lifetime surely. We play against Russia in said final. You “wouldn’t mind” if that referee was also Russian? That’s your genuine position that you think is credible?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If that ref is the best and I if knew his history and had seen him in other games involving that team and others and knew how good he was at his job, then no I wouldnt.
If I knew nothing of the guy I wouldnt judge him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You know he’s Russian. And you’re equivocating now. You seem to be suggesting that their could be bias?
But you’d risk it. World Cup final? Scotland v Russia. Sergei Karasev on the blower? Linesmen? Russian. VAR? Russian team. This is their first time refereeing Russia. Belting out the anthem. Saluting the Russian flag fluttering in the cool Moscow breeze.
Your genuine position would be this is grand? No probs? Let the boys play? No issues whatsoever?
“Knowing” a referee “apparently” supports a certain club isn’t actually know. What you mean is you’ve heard from “sources”. That you’ve appear to have decided to believe.

I wouldnt judge a ref on how good he is or how capable he is to ref a game without knowing something about him.
If the best ref in the world is of a certain nationality say Russia as you say is to take charge of the final involving Russia I wouoldnt have a problem.
If that guy had been in charge of plenty of other Russia games before and had shown he is the best ref available.
No I wouldnt have a problem with it. I judge a ref on his ability not his affiliations.
Your trying to take it the extreme as much as possible and getting further way from the situation we face.
Collum is a celtic fan .... I have never grumbled about him being in charge of any celtic game before in my life thinking he could be biased.
I never thought at the time when Dallas was reffing games that we would get a bias in the games.

😂 what up Q! I don’t know he’s a Celtic fan but whodunnit seems to know. He previously said Collum was allegedly a Celtic fan but strengthened that position to say he knew. Sadly he’s offski though.
My take wfiw having been a league referee
When you start off there’s every chance you end up officiating in a game your mates or ex football team colleagues are playing in. You don’t want to be seen to favour them so in practice you tend to be “harsher” than a balanced norm. That’s just the start.
As you progress in standard you take care not to be seen to influence decisions for other teams that could be seen to benefit clubs that may be indirectly affected.
They all have a subconscious bearing.
In the minnows of Scottish football, everything is viewed by a bias based microscope. It looks for fault.
And having been a referee; it’s a thankless task. You start at the bottom and take the worst sheite. People would be in court for their behaviour of a normal Saturday morning/afternoon or Sunday morning game.
You’re by some warped sense of legitimacy, a fair game target.
Until football ever reaches the levels of respect and understanding that other sports have at grass root levels in our country, it will never change.
It’s always a poisoned chalice

Agreed, was about to post similar. at school, yes a long time ago our PE teacher was also a grade one ref and when he officiated our matches (rugby) he was always harsher on us than the opposition. I also refereed at Scouts footie and you never wanted to be seen to favour your own team.

Which pens against Rangers should have been awarded as clear and obvious?
Goldson against Celtic
Sands against Hibs
2 absolute stonewall penalties
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Goldson was never clear and obvious, the guidance and English refs have been shown to say it wasn’t a pen.
Sands I can’t even remember. But even if so then evens up the two lost points that poor reffing cost us against Hibs before VAR.
As an aside and totally off topic. Have not seen Atheist for some time and he has missed a few weeks on the predictor. Hope you are ok mate

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ginger, you should hear some of the stories about hockey-parents. Beating on refs regularly.
And soccer-moms in the states? I remember a quite famous one describing this cohort as pit-bulls with lipstick.

Ah you’ve now strengthened your position that Collum IS a Celtic fan.
And you’ve also not addressed the specific scenario I outlined. You asked for a specific example. I gave one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know for sure Collum's a Celtic fan?
Wouldn't be because he teaches in a Catholic school, would it? Because I have never seen or even heard of him being at a match at Celtic Park unless he was working. Never seen him wearing a green and white scarf. How do you know who he supports?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂 what up Q! I don’t know he’s a Celtic fan but whodunnit seems to know. He previously said Collum was allegedly a Celtic fan but strengthened that position to say he knew. Sadly he’s offski though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Snow. Its a winter wonderland here. How's the wee one?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On good form 😃 crawling now and very much in explorer mode. Gone are the days you can leave her somewhere to play and she’ll be there 30 second later. Winter wonderland sounds better than damp for sure!

I can only imagine.
On the odd occasion I have to think the only thing that got me out of a predicament was my accent down south.

I emailed him last week as I was concerned. No response as yet.
Admin has done the same after we exchanged messages.
I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

That’s not how it works though, and I’ve also mentioned 2 other incidents.
