Not on a match that happened ☺️
I think this is a game it is possible to get something from. Newcastle's form hasn't been great since Christmas. 2 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses in the league.
I think we need to be positive in this one.
I think Newcastles rise is being slightly overrated so far. Howe is doing great but their position flatters them a little.
Over the last 10 games both teams have picked up 14 points.
Over the last 6, Wolves have picked up 10 points and Newcastle 6 points. Both have either played Man City and Liverpool or Liverpool twice in that run.
Not a lot to fear I don't think. Newcastle have a good defensive record, but we should be looking to get something from this.
Must admit to being grudgingly impressed with what Howe has achieved at Newcastle after only one and a bit windows with the Saudi money. Having said that I didnt think they were anything special when we played them earlier in the season, we played well and should have won that game as I recall. And their recent form, theirs and ours, suggests that we could get something out of this one too.
On Saturday morning I was of the view that any points from the Spurs and Newcastle games would be a bonus, get the games out of the way and concentrate on beating Forest and Leeds, still felt that way at 4pm but by 5 it was "bring on the geordies".
E@S report we had large financial loss last season partly due to reduction in tv revenue from the Covid inflated revenue the season before, and we have splashed a lot of money recently on transfers, have to think we will be making some sales in the summer to balance the books
just looking at the league table, and why not? Surprised to see that over the last 5 league games Newcastle, with 3 draws and 2 defeats and the only team without a win, would be bottom of that particular form table. Wolves, with 7 points, would be 8th.
Newcastle have drawn more matches this season than any team in the Premier League bar Brentford. Could see them drawing another on Sunday.
As for Wolves if you compare our results to the other 8 teams in the relegation picture since the World Cup
Wolves 17 points
Forest 13
West Ham 9
Southampton 9
Everton 8
Leeds 7
Leicester 7
Bournemouth 5
No news on Costa yet who was having scans on his knee today
Boubacar Traore and Hwang will miss the Newcastle game but are expected to be available for the Leeds game. Bueno should be available after the international break at the end of March

No doubt we are a work in progress under Julen but at the same time it is clear we are massively improved overall.
Really looking forward to next season now, it should be a good one.
Ruben Neves is on 9 bookings and therefore one away from a two game ban. There’s speculation that he may be rested from the Newcastle game to ensure he is available for the two important games that follow against Leeds and Forest
Wolves evidently had scouts at the Red Bull Salzberg game at the weekend to watch striker Benjamin Sesko. The fact he scored 3 in 9 minutes means they were probably impressed
No chance of us getting him, half the prem were there as well.
Also he has signed for Leipzig to join them in July.
Thanks for the reliable info Boston.
Evidently too much disinformation posted on fans forums
He signed for Salzburg’s sister club Leipzig last summer to join them at the end of this season. The reason scouts are still watching him is because Leipzig are up for selling him for a profit in the summer
Still have massive competition if that is true.
Harry Maguire apparently being let go by MU at the end of the season, some rumours we were interested.
NO WAY.
Harry Maguire is a lot better than football fans give him credit for. He'd be our best centre back if he came here.
Seem to remember, he was on our radar back when he was still at Hull City and before he moved to Leicester City.
I think Harry Maguire has been a very good player in the past and I was hopeful we would sign him from Hull. But in the last year or two he has looked a bit like damaged goods, and seems to have lost his way and lost confidence. Probably needs to move on from Utd then maybe he can get his mojo back
Maguire average at best, not international class.
