Apparently Chiquinho made a fantastic debut for the Clayheads last night. One Stoke fan commenting that he's the best player he's seen in a Stoke shirt for years.

Good job really that we made about 80 million so far this summer, especially when you consider Wolfie scoffed at the suggestion we would raise that much.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We are actually 37.45m euros to the good, not 80m.
In:- Cunha. 50m
Traore. 11m. = 61m
Out:- Neves. 55m
Collins. 26.85m
Coady 8.7m
Jimenez. 6.4m = 98.45m
I don't think we can class all of Collins fee as profit, as his original fee when he joined will have been amortised across the length of his contract. So most of his transfer income will go into balancing that.
Similarly though, I imagine Cunha and Traore's fee will be amortised over the length of their contracts; so it won't be the full £61 million hit on this year's accounts.

So wolfie is wrong then?
I don't fully understand it as Im not an accountant and as we don't have full view of the clubs accounts or details on the transfers, I imagine everyone on here is wrong in some way.

Agreed. But some more than others presumably
Everyone on this board is equal, but some more so than others.
Those figures I've put up are merely transfer fees for this season. How they're worked out is up to the clubs involved.

Apologies accepted. No harm done buddy.
Chiquinho made his first appearance for Stoke in a friendly yesterday and was by all accounts the most impressive player on the field.
And Sasa played in a behind closed doors u23 match against Man City and evidently had an excellent game. Going to take him time to get fully up to speed but good to hear he impressed on his comeback

Leave me out of this
Just watched Liam Keen on the E&S site saying that there has been an internal lack of communication over the last few days between the finance guys monitoring the profit & sustainability situation and the team that's working on transfers. So if Bristol had accepted any of our offers for Scott we wouldn't have been able to proceed with the transfer anyway. I found the lack of clarity between Shi and Lopetegui extraordinary but this (if true) is incredible.
I wonder if the club had confidence that external investment was imminent but has not materialised?
I find that pretty hard to believe but that said, it is clear something is amiss given Scott and Elvedi looked assured and have now both stalled or even collapsed.
I think Julens interview is on the back of those deals collapsing
No idea where Liam Keen gets his information? He obviously doesn’t read this site.
I have it on very good authority that we can take everything that Lopetegui says with a pinch of salt and that incoming transfers will happen, albeit on the back of the sales of a few more first team players.
Ryan Giles evidently having his medical at Luton today.
Meanwhile his replacement Aaron Cresswell has stopped training with West Ham with a view to pushing through his transfer to Wolves. Still the case at the moment that Wolves have offered £2.5m and West Ham want £5m. A compromise will surely be reached
I suspect that is more a case of we need to sell Giles and Podence before we can move on Scott and an acceptable deal for the latter may not be forthcoming right now.
