What now?

According to the ever reliable E&S he could be gone by end of play today. Shame because we had a pretty decent pre season and looked to be playing with some attacking flair.

Evidently talks are taking place now at Molineux, as the parties discuss JL's departures terms

Would he count as the first casualty of the season? Technically its happening before the first game, but it could leave us without a manager for game 1.

Julen is a bit of a cant isn't he.

I bet he ends up in Saudi within a month

Thats not a bad shout Cinci - would explain why he is happy to walk away with his reputation in question.

Go Gary O'Neil/Bournemouth were interested in signing Alex Scott

Does O'Neil still get him but for a different club

The whole thing stinks of Mendes

posted on 8/8/23

If O'Neil does take charge, he seems to like 3 at the back, which would suit RAN, Semedo and Doherty as all 3 are better suited as wing backs.

The less said about Mendes, the better. I've wanted him gone for years now.

Wouldn't surprise me if Mendes has secured a deal in Saudi Arabia, should Loppy go.

Never understood your stance with Mendes. Make no mistake, without him the best years we had in four decades would not have happened.

Wolfie never misses an opportunity to talk about a back 3.

Mendes helped Fosun to begin with and we did benefit, but then money took over. Look at our last 3 managers, all his clients.

And? Nuno and Lopetegui are good/excellent managers so he didn't ruin us there did he.

If you want to talk about a back 3 let's, but all I did was point out a preference O'Neil has, should he become our next coach. It's called research.

posted on 8/8/23

No one else wants to talk about a back three.

The back three debate has been fun. Only problem is that none of us are against a back three in certain game situations. It is called flexibility.

Could be fate that Mick is currently available?

If we’re going to go back, we may as well go right back.

I would honestly just boycott the club

That would certainly please Butey.

If Lopetegui does leave, I wish him nothing but failure for the rest of his career.

Agree Tam. Surprised at how many seem to be blaming the club over this more than Julen.

Feels to me like he has wanted out all summer and has pushed hard to get his wish.

I don't think any of them come out of it looking good. I'd happily see the back of Fosun and Jeff Shi.

I don't think Julen ever wanted to be here. He turned us down twice before. We had to offer him a huge increase on his previous salary to get him to come this time and he's been posturing for a pay out to leave since the end of the season. I really dislike the guy and if he leaves will root against him the rest of his career.
