David Lowe's finest hour.

He might not have been in charge for that game, but it was anounced before the match as the new manager of Derby County. I was there.
And it was also announced by the commentators on that clip.

Clough took up his appointment the following day.
David Lowe, our only manager to have a 100% record. Better than Ted Magner. Even one of the best teams in the world couldn't beat him. He will definitely have a something to tell his grandkids.

We saw glimpses of someone who could have been a very good player. Maybe he still will be, but his career has massively stalled at Derby. Not his fault, but he epitomises the Morris era, spending money we couldn't afford to spend and paying the consequences.

A pity but inevitable.

I had watched him play for Charlton several times when he looked immense but those injuries cost us dearly. Will he ever be the same again? I doubt it.

Expect him to sign on Wednesday for Birmingham.

I'm hoping the wages saved from Bielik's departure allows Derby to escalate on their transfer targets.

Connor Washington still to be confirmed, should he be a transfer target for PW. Possibly not a popular call but I'd like to see the return of the Everton winger Lewis Dobbin or Carlos Borges ( Man City ) who absolutely tore us apart last season.

Krystian Bielik, signed for Derby in 2019, when this transfer was announced and the amount confirmed at £8-£10 million I was incredibly disappointed and my heart sank.

Having spent lavish amounts on failed promotion bids year after year, Mel Morris yet again showed his arrogance that throwing money the club couldn't afford was the right idea.

After Lampard's ridiculous spending spree on dross we really had to consider budget or free transfer signings but instead opted to pay a premium price for a position I think at the time was not our biggest issue.

Sadly even now I sometimes reminisce about those ridiculous transfers from around about Butterfield, Johnson signing onwards to Waghorn, FloJo, Malone, Ashley Cole and the extortionate loan fees we paid for Tomori, Mount and Wilson.

Allowing Lampard an open transfer policy was ridiculous, especially when you compare Clough's signings and their longevity with the club. The bulk of Lampard's signings left for a considerable loss within 12 months.

How we could have done with a Monchi from Seville! A Director of Football with an eye for talent.

Goodbye Bielik, all the best , shame you got injured, twice with horrific career threatinvinjury. In the DM role your abilities shine through like a beast. Disappointed you did not want to support the club during the hard times.

All managers make some bad signings but ours have been financially crippling. I think those days are over for a while. No doubt we will grumble about this or that player but we won’t be wasting millions and millions as has been the case in the recent past. Bielik leaving seems a bit like the end of a stupid era.

Heb's pal has signed fora 3 year deal for Aberdeen

posted on 28/6/23

Ah that's a shame, I half imagined Heb getting dolled up for Shinnie's visit to Pride Park via Wigan Athletic.

Good luck to Shinnie on your next chapter. Played with heart and desire for Derby and these are the type of players we'll respect, love and remember.

Rumours we're linked to Tunisian international Idris El Mizouni of Ipswich Town. He spent last season on loan at Leyton Orient so was not involved with Ipswich's promotion campaign.

Regarded as a DM or box to box midfielder whose career never took off at Ang's second favourite team.

Along with Derby, Charlton are credited with an interest in the player. Should our interest be genuine I'm assuming he'll be considered as a back up option for DM role behind Smith.
