Possibly but to me it feels very similar to get Lenny in he knows what to do but with more fanfare.
Guy on the way down gets a chance to relive old glories.

Iraola appointed Bournemouth manager
GTB will be raging (I think it was GTB who wanted him in at Celtic)
It's also pretty naive to say that Rodgers relegated Leicester. There were 10 games still to play and were 1 point off safety. I think it's actually fair to assume they'd have been alot better placed sticking with him rather than giving it to Dean Smith who truly did 'get them relegated'

I wonder which one of them two the Leicester fans blamed, the one that spaffed their limited cash on duds or the guy that was brought in to save a team on the slide.
The issue was not sacking Rodgers quick enough.

End of the day he's a top manager, certainly for our level. That's all I care about Very good appointment from the club. Our foot has been on your throat for years and years, and I suspect it will remain firmly there

Top Manager at our level yes 100%
Will be interesting this time round to see how he fares against a decent level of competition though. His first season at Celtic was unquestionably outstanding.
Rangers points total last season though would have comfortably won the league in his other 2 seasons. And that's a Rangers side that most seemed to feel had hit the end of the road and was far from at its best with a massive overhaul required.
I'm not sure its the shoe in most people think.
As I’ve said numerous times already, I didn’t want BR back. Not a lot any of us can do about it mind, beyond stating that.
BUT for all his flaws, are any Bears seriously thinking/suggesting that Micky Beale is, or ever will be, a better manager? Laughable if so, given he’s achieved the square root of hee haw in either of his managerial stints to date.

I guess Beale is just ‘unlucky’ lol 😂
I really don't look into these points totals too much tbh, you either win the league or you don't The way the seasons pans out, if it's close, pressure etc. europe, injuries. Points totals mean absolutely nothing basing them on your team collecting a total that did not win the league
I think my feeling is what a lot are thinking
Didn't want Rodgers back. Mainly because he is a rat bassa. Is he the best option available within our budget and who would come to Scotland? Yes. Does that make it ok? No
It comes with huge pros and huge cons. I'd expect for 2 seasons it will be good but I am very very wary. Now he is appointed he will get my full backing and I look forward to singing "Brendan Rodgers is here for 10 in a row" again.
I do not trust that it won't go sour again in 18-24 months and I do not trust that if he has a spectactular first 18 months he will not go to Villa when they sack Unai Emery for not winning a European trophy or finishing in the top 6

Of course but I think the context is relevant. Celtic under Rodgers in his second season drew 10 games and lost 4 and finished 9 points ahead of Aberdeen. That was a Celtic team with the likes of Tierney, Brown, Dembele, Eddy and Sinclair.
Rightly people will point to the previous outcome but trends tend to predict future outcomes and the reality is he will have to do more than he did last time if he is to repeat his success.

Not sure how you can say he will never be better. If you were to compare Rodgers first year in Management vs Beale's then there's nothing to suggest Beale can't have a better career.
He won an invincible treble, collecting over 100 points aswell though. As I say, whoever finishes first is all that matters
I'm sure he is very aware of what is required
100%, first season was outstanding. Would never look to diminish that.
It wasn't representative of his tenure though and bucked the trend which remained fairly constant in the other 2 league seasons.
I'm not knocking Rodgers as a coach, personally think its as good an appointment as you could have wished for when you remove the emotion.
There are lots of people though who look at his previous time and assume his return guarantees more of the same. The invincible season masks that the other 2 seasons in league terms were far from exceptional vs the league consistency Ange and even Lennon achieved since his departure (Lennon final season aside).
