If we get rid and his career goes the way of Dele Ali and he suffers mentally from it then people will say the club should have done more to help him recover and learn from his alleged terrible mistakes.
----
Strongly disagree with this. Hundreds of academy players are released every year without having been publicly outed as a rapist and abuser.

His career won't be over. Someone will pick him up, sadly.

Alleged stench.

We don't know the context with which the stench was emitted. He could have just farted on the couch for example.

Rosso shared the email address yesterday, which prompted my letter to the club. I wouldn't be surprised if the reply he received was identical to mine.

Many have said " innocent until proven guilty".
That only exists in court. Outside there are thousands of criminals who have never been caught, they are not innocent, just never tried.

Or show the world that the club won't bend a knee for mob justice and a man who is not found guilty before court has every right to play for United. You can't have it both ways, either trust the law or make the law obsolete and rely on the mob to do justice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So the criteria for being a Manchester United player is just "not a criminal"?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, innocent until found guilty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you thought Gerrard was not guilty of punching the guy we watched him punch?

ps Greenwood was not found "not guilty"

I don’t want Greenwood to play for United again, and I think the club should get rid (in whatever form that takes to comply with their legal obligations and also in a way that supports all in loved). However, what I will say is that I have read an awful lot online and on here, including this thread, who claim to speak for woman or to the importance of woman’s voices in this, while totally dismissing the one woman who actually matters in this case. The claims being variations of ‘she only got back with him for money’, ‘she’s a DV victim and they never leave first time’ etc….. etc… the absolute arrogance of this, to speak on someone else’s behalf for ‘for all woman’ etc… is just virtue signalling. Just say you don’t want him to play cause he’s obviously a wrongun and we don’t want that at United. End of. Don’t claim to speak for woman or the importance of this for woman, especially when you disregard the very woman at the centre of it.

Utd could score some major brownie points by taking the moral decision with Mason for sure.....but then in the very next major act of the club we could potentially hand over the keys to Qatar.

Great message that sends out doesn't it. Women's right matter (just not over there in the middle East)

There is a reason for that. Public opinion has never been the standard for a reason.

The calculation that United are likely doing is fairly simple - is it going to cost the club more in lost revenue from sponsors, fans, the womens' team etc to keep him, than the club will generate from having him as an asset.

At the end of the day, as much as we'd all prefer them to take the moral high ground, it just isn't likely - money talks. Public opinion will have an impact on that potentially lost revenue.

Everytime a Greenwood article is posted it will gives same people the opportunity to re post their same arguement for and against Greenwood each time. I think we all know what everybody thinks about the case by now and until some kind of new clarity, truth and explanations are provided by somebody genuinely ITK who is actually involved in the proceedings then we will all just continue to ramble on about this. Meanwhile it does nothing for this forum and is dividing us all into groups and cliques.

Let us wait till we hear something new as a development and revisit the conversation with better insight another day.

what will be almost a certainty is that he wont be the same player.

Hard to see this not affecting his mindset, very rarely do footballers who are caught up in stuff like this bounce back and take their career forward. they tne dto end up bouncing from club to club chasing that potential.

He has been off the training field for the best part of a year and a half. away from the club completely at his age that will hinder his development massively in what was prob his most important years in terms of development.

Even if he was to come back its unknown if he will be or ever will be good enough again.

Likewise. Makes no sense to me: if someone says something disagreeable, then disagree/counter it or just ignore it.

Filtering is a such a baby-ish thing to do & someone defeats the point of a forum anyway.

Most of the times I've seen people raise the "victims don't always leave their abusers" argument, it's in response to the "they're back together now" line. I don't see that as trying to speak for the victim and certainly not as virtue-signalling. It seems to show an awareness that United's decision has potential ramifications beyond this one case.
