fair enough ... sorry I was talking about the support as a whole.
there will defo be a "movement group" that will form that will inevitably include plenty of females who have never liked football before to become lifelong fans also. Too many bitter attention seekers out there that would love to jump on a bandwagon to hurt such a huge institution like Man Utd.
Is there actually any female united supporter on 606?
like or not the club will take this into consideration and I think would make up a large part of the decision to be made.
Facts are that some people are not as commited as others or dont have the same heart in supporting a football team than others and will find it easier to 'divorce' their club over this matter and even support another team. How that works I dont know. I cant I know that. Ive been a United fan since the early 70s. Ive been there with United and done it all. It would take a lot more than this for me to pack it in. I know many 'United fans' who wouldnt cross the road to pay to see United. If he had been tried and was banged up and jailed... and the club STILL wanted to keep him after he got out I would think about it strongly. But then the club wouldnt if that was the case.

So basically supporting the team means accepting abusers into the team? Is that what you are saying there? It’s a club we support, but it’s not the most important thing in the world, if you believe it is, you’ve got issues..

One of strangest things about the fallout from this case is how those that made their minds up straight away, have been prepared to be critical of fellow fans, the manager, the club, the family, and even the women they believe to be the victim, all in support of their immediate judgement.
Meanwhile, those that have considered that there could be more to the case than we know, and have reserved judgement until we know more, have been branded nonces and so on.
Bizarre.

If he wasn't such a quality and valuable player, the decision would have been very easy and quickly made. If this was Phil Jones he'd have gone by now.
------------
I see this a lot, but is it really true?
When you say "gone", do you mean sacked? Do we know that can be done easily here? Or do you mean sold? To whom? Remember, we can't sell players we don't want even when they don't have controversy hanging over them, let alone when they do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's very obvious that he is an asset and club and fan saw him as the future. Writing him off is a far tougher decision than someone like Jones so while I could not be proved, it is natural that the desired outcome is different and thus while due process has to be followed the weight given to various issues involved can easily be tweaked/spun/manipulated to get the desired outcome.
Reading between the lines of the club statement, theyre saying the 'vuctim'is cool with it and the law hasnt been broken,so.... .
If they wanted him gone they could easily given much greater weight to a zero tolerance to abusive mysoginistic behaviour and would be commended for doing so.

Here's the email I sent to feedback@manutd.co.uk yesterday, and the template response I got in reply:
Hi,
As a lifelong Manchester United supporter, I was alarmed and appalled to read the Athletic's report that the club was on the verge of announcing the reinstatement of Mason Greenwood into the team.
Regardless of sporting and commercial considerations, the club has a duty to consider the impact of its decision as to whether or not it takes a stance on the horrific audio recording that has widely been shared. The wider discourse (especially on social media) around this story has been flooded with misogyny, and also prevalent notions about domestic abuse such as the idea that if the alleged victim is still with the alleged abuser, he can't have done anything very wrong. Manchester United is a huge cultural force, and with this reach comes a weight of responsibility to be seen to stand unambiguously against tolerance of abusive and coercive relationships. To bring back Mason Greenwood would have a disastrous effect on perceived norms. It will legitimise abuse. It will amplify myths that encourage us not to take victims seriously. And in empowering the worst voices taking part in this discourse, it will have real-world consequences on this wellbeing and safety of women trapped in abusive relationships.
It will be the single most shameful chapter in the club's history. You will lose fans, and in particular the trust of women, who should feel safe, respected and welcome in our football community.
Regards,
------------------------------------------------
Dear ------,
Thank you for taking the time to email Manchester United. We note and understand your strength of feeling on this matter.
This has been a difficult case for everyone associated with the Club, and we recognise the strong opinions it has provoked.
Since charges were dropped against Mason Greenwood in February, we have conducted our own investigation into the allegations made against him, and we want to assure you that the welfare and perspective of the alleged victim has been central to the club’s inquiries.
As a club, we are extremely mindful of the views of our supporters, but we also believe that our decision in this case should be based primarily on the findings of our investigation.
As communicated yesterday, despite media reports, we have not yet reached a final decision. When we do, we will communicate and explain it through club channels.
We assure you that we are listening to carefully to your views and ask for patience as we work through the final stages of this considered process.
Kind regards,
Manchester United Football Club

I honestly think, if this was a Spurs player I would feel quite sick continuing to support them if they allowed him back in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody has to support him though if he comes back. You can still support the club though. I don't like the Glazers one bit for example and never have. I'm still there every home game supporting my team.
Don't think we will see lots of Greenwood merch being sold ever again now. I will still support the team though even if he's in it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree, I don't care who makes the final decsion if he is playing for my club i would fee sick. That would mean managers, stakeholders etc all thought it was fine to bring him back.

No way will people stop supporting United if Greenwood stays.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well the post literally 3 up from this says your wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. Very easy to say such things, very difficult to stick by it. Just like quitting 606, they always come back
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s just rdd
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you dont think there will be female supporters that will do the same.
Good chance they would band together and do it in a public movement sorta thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And, Culer, Robb, Sandy, and a bunch of others i imaging
----------------------------------------------------------------------
can you not just answer the question rather than be a dhick?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Huh?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you dont think there will be female supporters that will do the same?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In my mind i was thinking of the 606 community, i should have made that clearer in my initial response.
Yes im sure many women will stop following United, but in terms of 606 users i think everyone will stay here

fair enough ... sorry I was talking about the support as a whole.
there will defo be a "movement group" that will form that will inevitably include plenty of females who have never liked football before to become lifelong fans also.

Wonder if he’s gonna be like Ravel who was literally useless after time out of the game

That's what I'm trying to avoid with Mason. He does not need to play for us, but his football career should not be over.

Bizarre.
painted anyone who wants to wait and see what the Club decided
.hat those who have said thwrencpuld be more tomit than we know lets see what comes of the CPS and club processes,
Those that want MG gone
Judged him immediately.
Refuse to consider there is more to the case than they know.
Dismiss the significance of the additional information the CPS referred to in their decision to drop the case.
Have been abusive to those that are of the view that we should trust the CPS and Club decision.
Are prepared to suggest the woman they believe to be a victim, was happy to accept a bung.
Are prepared to criticise the club they claim to support / love over their handling of such a difficult case.

Excellent email RR. The response from them not as much. It's obviously a copy/paste job as it has been posted on Twitter a few times today with the same typo!
