Blame the worse London Mayor of all time
Apart from some small exclusions, does anyone need to drive in London?
Hahaha you guys have it easy! Glasgow ULEZ, non-compliants are banned 100% with a £60 fine fine for contravention, doubling for every repeat offence. No way to 'buy' entry.
Council has spent a fortune renting vehicles because their fleet is not all compliant yet still they have racked up 1000s in fines on themselves.
Going back to court led by firms that have garages servicing older cars within the zone.
Give me your reasons for driving into the centre of London and why you need to above other people?
Best thing that has happened in London for years.

Clean air all day long over all the smelly pollution across the capital. Ironically I bet those that are opposed, were those that most wanted smoking banned in pubs.
I long ago gave up driving, but walking in built up areas, and having to breathe in all the toxic air from cars clogging up the roads, has been bad for my health and millions of Londoners for years. I don`t live in London now, and notice the quality of air where I live is much better, but I do like to visit a fair bit, and cleaner air down in London gets a big thumbs up from me.
I don`t want to hear from moaning mums, oh I need to drive my child to school. Walk to school like we used to back in the day. The exercise will do some of the lumps of lard some good as well.
Needs expanding across the whole of the country.

There's a Glasgow in the motorway? What kind of poor planning is that? Of course if you build a Glasgow right in the middle of a motorway, there's going to be issues with traffic. Time to knock down Glasgow and just leave the motorway so that people can get about more easily with less congestion.
Not ulez, but since the area around Bank went to buses and cyclists only 7-7 it's been so much more pleasant as a pedestrian.
London public transport is excellent and I'm all for any schemes to reduce driving in it.
People get murdered, mugged, abused and get away with it but if you drive in a ULEZ zone you will be caught and fined heavily.
Tbf it’s just against petrol cars / vans built before 2005 / 2006 and diesel cars/vans built before 2015/2016

Can you give me the specific area of London where you see this being an issue? Maybe highlighting the poor public transport or poor access to services that mean that you would need to drive around or in and out of this area?
I checked our cars and thought it odd that my wife's 2.0L 208 MX-5 is OK, but her 1.4L 1999 Clio isn't, despite emitting far less CO2 and getting loads more miles to the gallon.

It is facking fantastic mate. M8 best aspect of Glasgow. Anyone in the city is straight onto the mway home and not clogging up the suburbs where people are walking. Also, being on the mway emits less COx/Nox than chuntering through the suburbs choking children.
You haven't thought this through, Barry.

It was a joke. BUT, still the issue is that having something that carries that many cars into a city centre, the infrastructure within the city is not able to cope, hence needing a restriction on the number of vehicles entering the centre.
The LEZ doesn't cover the motorway. It covers the centre of Glasgow. The problem area.
