Can anyone explain why Rangers like Israel and Celtic like Palestine? I have never bothered to look into it.

And can anyone tell me which side I am on, based on my other views? For example if I think the covid vaccine is a hoax, do I support Israel? Need some guidance cos can't be bothered researching which side I need to be on.

Legend has it that Hamas visited Luton and decided enough damage had been done and flew straight back to the Middle East.

Wait till they go to the other dump Liverpool!

Hamas will collect money and feed them

Corrupt, evil, self serving leaders on both sides, peace is impossible in the region.

We’ll find out in the distant future that Netanyahu knew in advance of Hamas plans.

Unlike most I don’t really want to take a side in this conflict. Both were shafted by Britain way back and both were left fighting for their own land.

I can’t blame Palestine or Hamas when you see the conditions they have to live in.

Difference is one is paid billions a year by the US to exist and the other is just rubble that is constantly being obliterated on a daily basis.

It’s okay to take a side.

The US need allies in the Middle East.

Politics is facked mate, full of corruption, constrictions and self preservation.

Totally agree

I was like Busby - didn't side anyone until I read into it and the 1948 Israel-Arab conflict where Britain, surprise, surprise had a hand in it.

Since then Israel had huge money pumped into its military by US and have become a superpower in military might.
However, they hav a sinister agenda underneath it, driven by their over zealots called Zionists. They will robably ban me now

Reading up on this opened up my eyes on the stuff that the mainstream (pro-Israel all of them) blurt out.

Between 2008-2020 (I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since then) there have been over 22 times as many Palestine deaths (5,590) as there have Israeli (251) and that's not even going into living conditions. One is clearly being f-cked over more than the other.

It can't be solved. You have two sides who don't want compromise. One side whose relatives immigrated into a country and then took part of that country and made it their own country, aided by the British.

How can you solve Israeli settlements in the West Bank? The fate of Palestine refugees? The status of Jerusalem? More importantly how can you solve a situation where two countries were forced into one, against the wishes of the majority, a smaller majority than should have been the case since people were planted, partitioned and many illegally immigrated to the country so that they made up around 30% of the population by the time two states were forced upon it?

This has been going on for over a century, there is no end in sight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on. Except I'd say it's been going on for more than a millennium with the Philistine wars, the crusades to "save the holy land" and all the way to the present bullsheet.

If Hamas push Israel too far they will be severely punished. Israel have the firepower to wipe them out and won't care about anybody else's opinion. I am old enough to remember the 6 Day War.

UK did more than that, decades previous.

The thing is the Jewish immigrants see the area as their homeland. Can you imagine if people over the world started claiming territory because it once belonged to their ancestors? I mean Russia are currently doing it with Ukraine. Perhaps Turkey should take back the Palestine area? Or Italy even? It doesn't matter which territory it is, at different points in time it was 'owned' by different people so how far do you want to go back?

There was once a deal very close to being agreed upon for both sides to settle on land distribution, think it was 40s or 50s. However the Jewish side kept claiming they would agree to it for now, to get some kind of foothold in the territory but at a later date will be taking the whole territory. Needless to say no agreement happened after that.

It's a mess that can't be resolved peacefully.

What annoys me is that it seems that any criticism (even if it's legitimate) of the Israeli state is shouted down as antisemitism.

They wouldn't have needed allies in the middle east if they could mind their own business from the start.

I too cannot take sides.
After the Holocaust Jews had, rightly, the world's sympathy, and many felt it right they had their own land.
Of course it wasn't their land they were given.
The money poured into Israel should have been shared for the Palestinians to rebuild.
Robb, your suggestion may be flippant, but it's worth investigating.
Meanwhile Israel is bound to retaliate , but I hope the US advises prudence

Wouldn’t say antisemite accusations are a ‘woke’ thing. There is clearly antisemitism in the world (like hatred for any religion) and much of it is wrong but it’s often used politically as a distractions rather than of genuine concern. Corbyn and the accusations against him is a prime example of that. That’s nothing to do with being ‘woke’.
