Whatever. He was signed for relative peanuts and he's probably been up there as the best left back in the league in his first season. If he doesn't make the cut on a technicality then more fool you. It makes a mockery of the other names you're listing frankly because the real judgement should be about finding that hidden gem at value for money. He ticks all of those boxes. The fact that he stayed at his previous club for one more year shouldn't make a difference.

Isn't the injury he has now the only time he has missed games - about 3 in the league?
Arsenal were 5 points better in the league after 26 games last season so to say Arsenal wouldn't be where they were if not for Rice might be overstating it? He might even end up winning more last season at West Ham.

The ones you mentioned already are all up there. I think Vicario can realistically be the only Spurs player up for nomination due to playing most of the games.
I'm not sure Rice can be considered signing of the season regardless of whether Arsenal win the league. He cost them over 100m. The criteria should really be contribution weighed against value for money. That's why signings like Vicario, Maddison and Udogie (yes, that's right, Udogie) should be considered far more successful signings.
I actually think Spurs got a lot right over the summer - Viacario, Porro, VdV, Madison are all really good signings imo.
One signing I think has gone under the radar a little bit is James Ward-Prowse. He's been quietly very good. A lot of people have taken notice of Kudus and with good reason but JW-P goal contributions have been the equal of Kudus and he plays much further back.
Can't get onboard with Endo I'm afraid Robbing. His form since mid-December has been improving and recently he's been very, very good. But he hardly played the first third of the season. Overall AMA has been better and by a distance imo.
I'd go for:
Vicario
Palmer
AMA
Barkley
Probably Rice tbh, even though it feels wrong putting a £100m+ player in as signing of the season, he's objectively been much better than JW-P. And in fairness, paying £100m+ doesn't necessarily equate to good performances as I'm sure Chelsea fans know!

Arsenal got 33 league games out of Partey last season and Jorginho is a year older this and I could go on. It’s a moot conversation and not what the article is asking.
Who are your signings of the season? Not here to critique others choices.
