hearts will want to beat us obviously, especially if they play us first because it would mean a lot to them if they could give you a guard of honour.
BTW - I just read this thread......Michael Stewart 'fairly neutral'!!??
That really is up there.
Yes Michael Stewart is capable of being an absolute walloper about other clubs and non-Rangers related situations. I have no doubt he could start an argument in an empty room on pretty much any topic.
But let there be absolutely no doubt - he absolutely DESPISES Rangers and is completely incapable of making anything approaching a balance assessment of anything to do with us.
And he makes no attempt to hide it whatsoever.

A lifetime ban was given for the one with Joe Hart. Difficult to stop morons doing what morons will do in a crowd of 50,000 other than make sure they are identified and dealt with. Hopefully the same happens here.

Everybody knows whats going on when you pair up Boyd v Sutton on Sky and even on Sportscene when it was Peter Grant and Neil McCann at the weekend.
No-one is kidding on who supports who in those situations. FFS Peter Grant even referred to Celtic as 'We' or 'Us' (cant remember which) at one point in his analysis on Sportscene.
I dont have an issue with that. You cant bring guys one who have had experience of this fixture with one team or another and not expect them to have leanings.
But guys like Stewart who are presented as 'neutrals' - only an idiot wouldnt pick up on his hatred of all things Rangers.

The thing is there are non neutral pundits capable of at least being balanced. So it's definitely a choice to go with the panto approach.
KT, petrov, Maloney and mccoist off the top of my head.
As for the bottles. The club's should agree that if the culprits are caught then a lifetime ban follows. Will never completely stop but if you make it known that's the repercussion and be public (I believe rangers issues a statement the last time they banned someone for it) it will eventually dissuade all but the most idiotic
Celtic should be slight favourites for me with the way the fixtures lie.
Sunday did give me a wee bit of hope that despite our obvious deficiencies we at least have a bit of fight and a manager that can turn things around.
Sunday also gave me a bit of confidence we can get something out of the away game at Parkhead.
I think there will be goals in that last game as well.
If we can get an actual left back fit, have Sterling in the midfield offering Tav a bit of protection and get Sima up to speed then we will be in a much better place than we were on sunday.
All to play for and not much between the teams at all.
If we can avoid giving Celtic a first goal from a daft mistake at CP then I'd think we at least have a chance of taking something. Which I think would be enough to win league.
In all 3 games though we have given the first goal away far too cheaply.
So Celtic still slight favourites.
If you had told me when Clement took over it would be in our hands at this stage of the season though I would not have believed you.

Not many Rangers fans walking away from the Aberdeen debacle would have believed we would be one game against Dundee away from going into the split top of the league.
And not many would have believed at HT or on 86 minutes on sunday we were getting something out that game.
The fact we have fought back in the league and fouhgt back to (deservedly imo) get a draw on sunday - especially after the most freakish of early bad starts - gives some encouragement we might be up to take the fight the distance.
Celtic look like they are in the better place as far as personnel are concerned going into the run in but we should hopefully have enough to at least match their results against the rest.
There is so much relying on the last OF game now .....
That's why I say bring it on for the last OF game at Parkhead. Yes they will be favourites and have home advantage but having clawed ourselves back to this point if you had given any player or supporter the scenario we are in now you would have bitten your hand off.
Going to Celtic and getting a result is a tough ask but not a tougher ask than what we have already overcome this season. Hopefully we have one big last effort in us.

Just to add to my earlier post, we've obviously got St Mirren at home to complete our pre-split fixtures. That leaves us having played 16 home, 17 away ... so we'll have 3 home and 2 away post-split. Obviously Rangers home, and we've already been to Tynie twice so that would defo be another home game. Only been away to Killie and St Mirren once, so those are the obvious 2 away games. That leaves one more at home to whichever of Dundee, Hibs or 'Well make the top 6 ... we've only played Hibs and 'Well once at CP, so that would work out fine, but if Dundee make it we'd potentially have 3 home games against them (the folly of the current split system). Of course, they could decide to make one of our away games at Dens in that scenario ... which would mean either Killie or St Mirren away being switched to home (which would be a nice bonus!).

Yeah I've been thinking about this as well as Rangers have a similar situation.
Our obvious away fixtures are Hearts and Celtic with St Mirren and Killie at home but depending on who takes the last slot might influence how they allocate the last home/away fixture for each of the OF. If its Motherwell or Hibs its pretty clean cut but if its Dundee then it means Celtic playing them at home three times and us playing them away three times. In that case they might mix it up, albeit I'd be amazed if they made Rangers go to Rugby Park three times and Celtic just once or give Celtic Tynecastle three times and Rangers just once.
never considered the number of home games, have the rest of the clubs had the same amount though?
i make out that dundee, killie, and st mirren all have 16 at home and 17 away
actually looking at it i think hearts will be the only team to have 17 home games before the split. assuming dundee make top 6.
Must be a logistical nightmare. We obviously are thinking about it from a title perspective but in fairness the likes of Killie will be keen for fairness as they chase a European slot or even just a higher position for the prize money. Can't just be geared towards the OF.
That's why it wouldn't surprise me to see something unexpected and not just based on who Rangers and Celtic have had at home so far.

Had enough difficulty working it out for the 'Tic, without looking at all the other teams as well. But aye, this is the one weakness of the split system in its current form ... always becomes a fixture nightmare post-split. Why I've always favoured a 14 team top flight ... play everybody home and away, split to top 6/bottom 8, play every team in your "half" home and away again. Not perfect either (there'd be a shedload of meaningless post-split games for some of the bottom 8, for starters), but it would solve the nonsense of playing teams away 3 times.
The split is good in terms of lining up things like a title race perfectly. It's exciting to go in to the last 5 games knowing you and your rivals are playing the same teams and its the best in the division with a real test.
I do miss the more random aspect as well though. A team going for the title going away to a team who need to win to stay up for example - you could argue that generates as much excitement and contest as Rangers or Celtic playing a Dundee or St Mirren team who are already on holiday with top 6 secured and no chance of playing for anything else.
