Dundee v Rangers Aff

Wouldn't want it played at Ibrox. Could surely be played at McDiarmid Park or another neutral venue.

Just seen the SPFL statement - moving it to next week gives us more time to plan for a further contingency if the pitch still isn't playable. Dearie me, sounds like they are just praying its third time lucky with no clue what to do otherwise.

Or Tynecastle/Easter Road/ Perth
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why involve a 3rd party, who would incur cost and need to be paid.

Also regardless of what half of split they end up (I think Hibs can overtake) they get 5 away games
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dundde would have to foot the bill
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They cannie afford it

Fack Dundee - they should be made to pay to hire the venue. That said I would be surprised if that option was available to them in the rules which might be another problem.

I've got an idea...get a group of Rangers fans, and a group of Dundee fans, who are already in the city tonight...and let them play it out..they won't be giving a fck about the state of the pitch

Pretty sure we'd be able to cobble together a better XI than them

Further point.

As much as its a bit of a joke on here at the moment, the SPFL should be thinking about the split and impact of any games at Dens. What if there's a downpour in the week of the last game of the season and there are titles or relegation places at stake? Can't just hope to go week to week without rain.

There’s been a statement…

https://www.rangers.co.uk/Article/club-statement-dundee-match-postponement-2024-04-10/1pZRDRxdOc1zY2sHgi83pO
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read it. Basically

"we are pisssed off that Dundee made it rain again and that our fans are glory hunters, so clubs with real fans can't afford to fix their pitches. Our fans, almost 4,000 of them are extremely disappointed, at themselves, for lacking the mental capacity to support their local team in favour hun-ting glory."

Given the need to complete fixtures by next midweek, why wasn’t this game rescheduled for LAST Wed? That was the first available date after the original postponement. Was Dens playable last Wed?

It was playable but one team requested not to play then. You can guess which one requested that

Love how you've tried to turn this into "just coz this affects Rangers" argument Magnum

The fixtures for the rest of the season could be affected if this game doesn't get played soon....so it's affects the whole league...a league that's already skint and a bit of a laughing stock because of $hite like this

If the pitch was anywhere near playable, I'd have gathered this game went ahead tonight...Dundee are a fcking joke
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How will it effect the rest of the season?

If you can't handle a game or two being postponed in the wettest country in Europe then you can always move elsewhere?

It's a very valid question and assuming that the matter is investigated, as Rangers are demanding, then we need to be told the answer.
Exactly what communications took place and who made the decision not to play the match on the first available midweek date.

Should just put both sides up in accommodation in Dundee and every time there’s a 10 minute weather window they play a portion of the game until the full 90 minutes is up.

Makes sense to me
