Just had a read of the comments, and aside from the despair about the human race I just had. Here is a little something that may help, I have put key words in caps so it can help:
For something to be RACIST, it has to be associated with RACE. The dictionary definition being:
"characterized by or showing prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized."
So when you speak/sing about another countries FOOD or WOMEN. That isn't about their RACE, it is about country specific things, you could argue its XENOPHOBIC - but you can not argue that it is RACIST, as ultimately, a PACKET OF SPAGHETTI doesn't happen to be a RACE.
Now, where this song is RACIST is because it is implying that the BLACK (thats a RACE) players who play for France are not French but they are in fact AFRICAN. As according to them, the players themselves cannot be black French, they have to be African - tarring the whole RACE of players under the same brush and discrediting their legitimacy.
In some instances there are players who are a first generation immigrants, in some instances there are players who have had families that have lived in France for centuries. Just because they are BLACK doesn't mean that they should be considered African.
Why target just the RACE of BLACK people on the team with mixed backgrounds? I think that is obvious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good post, it’s basically implying these black French players are fake black people and a disgrace to their race because it’s saying they’re disguising as non African when they’re African, equivalent of calling them uncle tom’s but obviously French
Sadly people don’t consider this racist though, seems to have to be the N word or even more specifically to be deemed racist. Just look at Muhammad Ali, probably one of the biggest racists we’ve ever known in sport and what he put Frazier through and the racial bile he gave to Frazier was incredibly sad yet nobody even would acknowledge or still doesn’t that Ali was a massive racist
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would have never guessed where that second paragraph was going based on the first paragraph

I think it's along similar lines as people mocking Ireland or Scotland for using English born and bred players with distant links to Ireland or Scotland.

Ok, will need some education here...
how does this song differ from the other racist chants about other countries?
I mean,
English to the Swedish 'you're sh111t, but yer birds are fit'
the German bombers song?
I raised something on the Leeds thread a while ago.. we have an Italian player... "he eats spaghetti, drinks Moretti, his c8cks f8cking massiiiiiive"... that song is racist on a couple of levels... 1. we're insinuating all Italians eat spegetti etc, and 2. we're insinuating that because he's a black lad, he has a massive c8ck. the press/media never mentioned anything about the Italian part.
isn't the meaning racist 'to discriminate against another race' right?.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse, or you're REALLY this thick, but a song claiming that French players have Nigerian fathers and Cameroonian mothers and born in Angola, but their passport says French is really just saying that all those French players of African heritage (which is most of the team) are basically fake French people. It's pretty clearly racially derogatory. Many of you seem to want the only definition of racism to be a guy wearing a KKK costume with swastikas and screaming "nigg@, nigg@, nigg@"".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't it mocking France for giving up on French players and relying on players of African heritage instead?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you for real? This has to be satire and nobody is this stupid. So French players of African players coming through the French system - all born or raised in France since childhood and French nationals - means that the France has given up on French players? Please define "French players" for us - let's understand where you're coming from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im guessing they mean those players with African parents.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely they would be specific which players they meant then? Like they were about Mbappe.
I cant think of any specific player who is from Angola, with Cameroonian father and Nigerian mother.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have to ask them.

So colour isn't mentioned, but you instantly know it's about black people. Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We know its about French players with African parents
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who were they referring to when the chant said they "run well"?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The French players of African heritage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zidane was a french player of African heritage. I suppose they think of him as somebody who ran well too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, he did, didn't he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you think they had people like Zidane in mind when singing the chant?

Was just making a comparison how people have very contrasting views on Racism, and the Ali is one that always stands out for me as a lot of people refuse that he was a massive racist because they don’t seem to consider calling someone a uncle tom and a guerrilla racism

Please define "French players" for us - let's understand where you're coming from.

how does this song differ from the other racist chants about other countries?
I mean,
English to the Swedish 'you're sh111t, but yer birds are fit'
the German bombers song?
I raised something on the Leeds thread a while ago.. we have an Italian player... "he eats spaghetti, drinks Moretti, his c8cks f8cking massiiiiiive"... that song is racist on a couple of levels... 1. we're insinuating all Italians eat spegetti etc, and 2. we're insinuating that because he's a black lad, he has a massive c8ck. the press/media never mentioned anything about the Italian part.

So colour isn't mentioned, but you instantly know it's about black people. Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We know its about French players with African parents
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who were they referring to when the chant said they "run well"?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The French players of African heritage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zidane was a french player of African heritage. I suppose they think of him as somebody who ran well too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, he did, didn't he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you think they had people like Zidane in mind when singing the chant?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Woahhhhh. People 'LIKE' Zidane? What the hell does that mean Bro?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You know that guy who is argued as being one of the best french midfielders ever. Who we've nettled down to being a French player of African heritage that runs well to satisfy your criteria for not being racist.
Do you think they had him in mind when chanting?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They were referring to French players of African heritage, so I guess they did, yeah. Don't you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But here's the thing. Zidane wasn't actually known for running well. He was known for being a genius, and of course his managerial stints at Madrid. So the chant definitely didn't extend to him.
You're all over the place defending this clearly racist chant.

My definition, in football terms, would people born and raised in France, to at least one French parent, so without qualification for other nations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So a player born and raised in France does not count as a "French footballer" by your definition. So let's say he's hypothetically born to an Ivorian dad and Algerian mum in Paris and grew up in France, what nationality would you ascribe to this footballer?

Oh please. It's clearly ingrained into their culture. I'm not saying it's all of them, but to be comfortable enough to livestream it to your fanbase is telling.

Countries like Argentina had decades of official government policy to turn their country into a white nation. They had racist immigration policies and even some forms of selective reproduction.
Look it up and see how they went about it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't answer what I asked. When you say they're "mocking France for giving up on French players", please what's your definition of "French players"?

Good post, it’s basically implying these black French players are fake black people and a disgrace to their race because it’s saying they’re disguising as non African when they’re African, equivalent of calling them uncle tom’s but obviously French

So French players of African players coming through the French system - all born or raised in France since childhood and French nationals - means that the France has given up on French players? Please define "French players" for us - let's understand where you're coming from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im guessing they mean those players with African parents.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't answer what I asked. When you say they're "mocking France for giving up on French players", please what's your definition of "French players"?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My definition, in football terms, would people born and raised in France, to at least one French parent, so without qualification for other nations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So a player born and raised in France does not count as a "French footballer" by your definition. So let's say he's hypothetically born to an Ivorian dad and Algerian mum in Paris and grew up in France, what nationality would you ascribe to this footballer?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was asked to differentiate between what I considered French players, and French players with African heritage.

You come to accept fecking idiocy from a few nob head fans. I supposed it shouldn’t be a surprise that there are a few nob head players too. Wtf was he thinking of?
