I'm actually hoping Celtic come out and give a lengthy statement detailing exactly what Rangers have or have not done to warrant their decision to revoke the ticket allocation...coz I see no reason why they wouldn't do so given Rangers have basically said they have their ducks in order
==========

i don't imagine that celtic are doing this lightly, i'd say they have spoken to rangers about the situation, asked for certain assurances and been sceptical of the reality based on the feedback they have had.

whatever i think about the celtic board, i do believe they are far more organised than what rangers have, i'll need to trust their judgement on this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I have my reservations about how lightly your board have taken this decision personally, given they've refused ticket allocations in the past.

And I again question what was actually agreed between the clubs and the SPFL with regards what progress had to be made at Ibrox by the time this first old firm game came round

""The allocation to be implemented by both clubs was clear and Rangers was taking all steps towards fulfilling that agreement."

I think its clear Celtic didnt have much faith in Rangers fulfilling their obligation

When they sold you a season book last year did they say it was for Hampden for the first half of the season ?

posted on 15/8/24

i think we need to ignore the past on this, that was resolved and it's just begging for titties for tatties given where this all started.

i think there is potential for celtic to have rangers fans at parkhead and then not be able to get them at ibrox.

If thats the case then there is potential for a slight advantage to rangers, and one we can't afford.

You called me something else the other day and I burst out laughing

I would like further clarification on this if I may.

Was it during the heat of battle, as one of you was mercilessly pounding the squealing other? Or in those satisfied post-coital moments where you lie lovingly in each other’s arms, gazing into one another’s eyes and leaking Harry Monk onto the bedsheets?

Because those are very different name-calling scenarios.

So let me ask you this question

See if the new year old firm game was to be played at either Ibrox, or Hampden....without all the "safety measures" put in place....and you had a chance of buying a ticket and going to it...would you?

As it stands, I feel there is more chance of your board accepting an away ticket allocation for a Champions League game played in the centre of Kyiv than there is them accepting one for Ibrox coz a bit of netting hasn't been put up

don't be daft mate.

the likely hood of getting hit with missiles at ibrox is far greater than kyiv.

The safety of fans is paramount and if rangers cant guarentee that then of course we should refuse the tickets.

You cant expect fans to go home injured just to support their team. So Celtic are well within their rights to refuse this.

SPFL absolutely should have made the statement seeing as they were involved and knew the score and knew the outcry. As it is Celtic are happy to leak it then sit back and watch the carnage.

What? You have your reservations?

Sorry, but there is a straightforward agreement between the clubs, the SPFL and more importantly the main sponsors in Sky the all have signed up to.

The police and both clubs have accepted the obligations on ground improvements to cater for fan safety. Celtic have practically completed theirs and there is no doubt that all will be well in place before the game in 3 weeks or whenever. You can walk over to CP and see them for yourself.

Celtic have asked Rangers to give their assurances under the agreed reciprocity arrangement that their fans will be offered the same protection be the game at Hampden or Ibrox. Rangers cannot give them. The police want that assurance also. As such, that is a direct and straightforward breach of the agreement which gives Celtic a way out and a balancing for games 3 and 4 of the league.

Can’t you see this or are you wanting Rangers to admit the stadium works are just way behind schedule and they don’t want to pay for it at Hampden for what will likely be one game? Because that will never happen.

Rangers won’t admit it and instead they’ll deflect and gain the support of the true knuckledraggers who think we are being told to “do one”. Good old Rangers.

I'd like to see where all of this is being communicated, I've seen nothing from any of those parties to say that any of that is indeed the case....that's all I'm waiting for...it's really quite simple like

I'll give our board both barrels if all that is actually the case....I don't know if that really is the situation at the moment

No need for Celtic to give any statements to anyone. Nobody is arguing or pointing out where our decision may be wrong or our interpretation flawed. Not even Rangers. Does that not tell you something? If Celtic were wrong the SPFL and Rangers would happily shout them down and cite them as being in breach. Yet; nothing.

Rangers have made a statement saying simply that they will reciprocate the ban; again as is their right under the agreement.

Sky wouldn’t put up with it either as it was them that made it clear the current tete a tete couldn’t sustain their level of sponsorship.

Sorry, but nobody will make a statement to appease a fan group and Rangers aren’t going to come out and say they’ve mucked it up yet again. Sakes it took them months to officially announce they wouldn’t have Ibrox ready in time and that was to their own supporters. Even now, they can’t set a date for a return so how they could possibly guarantee the works for our fans is impossible.

So because no-one is pointing the finger at Celtic, it automatically means Rangers are at fault does it?

Rangers announced this last night....last night FFS

Rangers also said in their statement that the allocations to be implemented by both club were clear and Rangers were taking all steps to fulfill that agreement...if they were not doing so, as is being said regards them basically doing fck all, then why say it?

I'm not expecting a statement to appease a fan group.....I'd just like to know exactly how and why this decision has been reached, coz right now, as has been said countless times...it's all conjecture, based on Ibrox currently being a building site, public websites not showing any planning applications and building warrants and the mantra that the Rangers board are utterly hopeless conveniently aligning with it all

Someone, somewhere...made this call....who and why?

Was it Rangers saying Ibrox won't be ready?

Was it Rangers not being able to give guarantees and Celtic pulling the plug....or was it Police Scotland?

Was it both Celtic and Police Scotland just being a bit overly cautious and wetting the bed?

We.......don't.........know

There is also the small point that Celtic had a real opportunity to be the bigger man here, could have gave the away allocation for this game, proven they had done their bit, and then just left Rangers to embarrass themselves if/when Ibrox wasn't ready for January, proving the issues lied with them all along.

As JFK somewhat eluded to earlier, Celtic could then revoke the allocation for the third game, and then pile the pressure on Rangers to get their finger oot their erse for the last old firm of the season

Worst case scenario would be, Rangers have fans at Celtic Park in a couple weeks when we get humped
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You deserve everything you get on this.
Celtic are above reproach on this and it's all a result of Rangers' brainless board pandering to the numbskulls in your support.
It's actually great fun watching you constantly wet the bed about it.
As i said earlier, nobody is going to spend money making Hampden safe for a small section of Celtic supporters when it's only for two games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wet the bed

Waiting for the facts is all

I'm actually hoping Celtic come out and give a lengthy statement detailing exactly what Rangers have or have not done to warrant their decision to revoke the ticket allocation...coz I see no reason why they wouldn't do so given Rangers have basically said they have their ducks in order
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm gonna be honest here

I am stunned to my very core that Stevie doesn't see what Rangers have done wrong and thinks Celtic are all very bad

Stunned I tell you

Stunned
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Want to tell me where I've said that like?

Simply making the point that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon that it's all Rangers fault that this has happened before the facts have came to light

There is every chance that our board has made a complete clusterfck of things yet again...every chance.....it's the far more likely scenario

But I'd rather wait and see exactly why Celtic have reneged on the agreement, because its Celtic that have done that, not Rangers....Celtic

Rangers have not refused a ticket allocation for Celtic Park, they were under the impression they would be getting one, but it has not been offered to them

All I want to know is why Celtic made that decision, because it is theirs to make, not anyone elses
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Celtic have not reneged on any agreement.
The agreement was that both clubs would have everything in place before the first game.
Celtic have done that. I've seen the works with my own eyes and it wouldn't have bern cheap.
Rangers have not done it as far as i know and the time spent hanging around waiting for steel for the Copland road shambles should have been used to work on the Broomloan.

The difference here is that you lot are doing everything and anything you can to pin all of this entirely on Rangers.......without full knowledge of the facts

I am not doing that, and I'm certainly not pointing fingers at Celtic either

I'm simply pointing out that Celtic are the ones that have had to make the call regards the allocation being denied for the first game, at their ground, despite the work they have done

"The agreement was that both clubs would have everything in place before the first game."....first game period, or first home game at the respective grounds?

See this is the kinda stuff that's being said just on a pure whim with absolutely fck all to back it up

Is it even remotely possible, that because Celtic still have a building warrant pending, that Police Scotland have decided, two weeks before the game, that due to this, they are making the call now that they don't support an away allocation being given

I mean is that even within the realms of possibility, and is it something that you lot might even begin to start considering?
