"Part of City’s challenge in the APT case saw them take aim at the voting structure of the league, arguing that votes that led to rules being implemented led to a “tyranny of the majority”. This claim was rejected by the tribunal but invited the question of how else the league might adopt and enforce its rules. Perhaps by decree on the part of its champions?"
Tyranny of the majority, cartel, established elite are all narratives peddled by the club and, subsequently, their fanbase online like Boris.
Its a load of shiite and you know it. What makes it funnier is the owner of your club is the epitome of an 'established elite or a cartel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who wrote that first paragraph? As that wasn’t rejected by the tribunal, they agreed that the premier league abused a dominant position.

Where are you getting the tribunal didn't reject the tyranny of majority claim?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it’s not a claim, it was part of city’s argument for the question of did the PL abuse their position to dominance, to which the tribunal said yes.
There seems to be so many journalists reporting on this that clearly either haven’t read or understood the judgment and that’s on both sides of the argument too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was part of the claim challenging the voting structure of the league, where did the tribunal find in City's favour and how is the vote going to change as a result?
This wasn't the point. My point was City using conspiratorial accusations such as a tyranny of majority, established elite or cartel are a joke both in their validity and when you consider who is making these claims.
Can't see how it helps City's cases (both this recent one and the 130 charges) other than make them look disingenuous and lacking self awareness.
Why is there a PL Emergency Meeting to discuss rule changes?
I thought they won?

How are Liverpool's owners part of an established elite when they bought LFC (2010) after Mansour bought City (2008)?

Out of interest, how do you know how Pep and Mansour address each other other?

Out of interest how are FSG part of the established elite if they bought the club after Mansour bought City?
What did they have to do to gain entry to this secretive shadowy cabal?

Firstly, I haven't got a clue how Pep and HRH address each other in private.
Secondly, I didn't invent the term 'Established Elite', it was more of a media creation.
Hope that helps.

"... You want to stop Portsmouth’s fall happening again? Ban director loans. The reason the club got into trouble was that its owner, Alexandre Gaydamak, financed significant investment through loans to cement Portsmouth’s place in the Premier League and challenge for honours. Then, when his personal circumstances changed, he wanted that money back. The club did not have it because it was the product of Gaydamak’s wealth, not theirs, and the collapse began. In 2010 it was reported that Gaydamak was demanding £32million. One would think that if preventing the next Portsmouth was a priority of FFP, loans by owners — not a gifted investment, which is entirely different, because there is no payback — would be outlawed, but no.”
Wait. He's saying that the catalyst for Portsmouth failing was its owner recalling loans provided to said club. So FFP was introduced as a set of regulations to prevent a Portsmouth like scenario happening again, but shareholders' loans are outside this scope, and should be outside the scope of APT.
Looking back to when City were spending more on wages than their entire revenue for 3 seasons in a row, ai never foresaw the day when English City fans would work overtime and stoop low to make a case for this ownership they have.
Football is the strongest tool ever. We literally have a Sheikh coming over from the middle east to fight for the "little man" and for fairness, while they outspend everyone through fake sponsorships and win everything and literally no one else has a chance these days. He has an army made of football fans from a football club he bought but it's now clear he bought much more than a football club.
By buying the club, he also bought a portion of the population's hearts. The irony is of stratospheric proportions, and to me when I read threads like this one it's a bit surprising the lengths City fans are willing to go to defend this utter charade but I guess they don't call it the beautiful game for nothing.

Was always going to be that way, it was clear that it had to go back to the tribunal again.
Been quite eye opening since the judgment came out in terms of both the PLs statement and some of the reporting that has happened.
The current PL board governance has taken untold PR damage coming out of this and the other failed cases.

Great article on many levels
Dispels the myth about FFP being introduced to help clubs like Portsmouth
Also uses the term 'Established Elite' which I apparently invented.

Why is there a PL Emergency Meeting to discuss rule changes?
I thought they won?

I'd like to hear Simon Bates narrating that with the 'Our Tune' theme playing gently in the background.

Was always going to be that way, it was clear that it had to go back to the tribunal again.
Been quite eye opening since the judgment came out in terms of both the PLs statement and some of the reporting that has happened.

The current PL board governance has taken untold PR damage coming out of this and the other failed cases.
Plagiarising from Martin Samuel's original article, Master's latest change of tone is another Monty Python "it's just an another flesh wound" moment.

Isn't Martin Samuel just a shill at this point? No more reliable for impartial news than random Twitter accounts as far as I understood it.

Wasn’t reported by him. And city’s statement made it pretty obvious this would be the case as they included the factual comment it was going back to the tribunal.
