What's Amorim's English like - does he sound like a local??!!! I never felt comfortable listening to Erik, felt painful hearing him talk
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaks good English with a typical Portuguese twang

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's the clincher then - all the best managers have a good voice to listen to
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I never said I liked his voice or accent, the Portuguese accent is horrid 😂
(I jest!)
He comes across as no-nonsense, though EtH’s disciplinarian reputation may have contributed to losing the players, a factor that’s difficult to fully appreciate. The bigger issue in his downfall could be a lack of clarity, with players unsure of expectations or simply losing faith in the approach.
For any new manager, winning over the group is crucial, identify group leaders, break up cliques, and remove any negative influences, even miserly sods with poor body language. Bring everyone back to basics with a strong work ethic, showing zero tolerance towards slackers (show them the door!). Clearly communicate the playing philosophy and stay committed to it. Above all, show passion and show that you care!
