Tick tock tick tock 22 years and counting.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
22 years? Right let's use that stat since you brought it up. In those 22 years Liverpool have won:-
1 league title 89/90
4 FA Cups 89,92,2001 and 2006
3 League Cups 95,2001,2003
4 Charity Shields 1989, 1990*, 2001, 2006 (* shared)
1 Champions League 2005
1 UEFA Cup 2001
2 UEFA Super cups 2001,2005
Spurs have won:-
1 FA Cup 91
2 League Cups 99 and 2008
1 Charity Shield 91
Forever and counting.
The mediocrity I was talking about was Tottenham fans running around like they've just pulled Sienna Miller, on the back of the last few years of (relative) success...
22 years and counting? Not really, I'd say 6 years - which is long enough, and yeah, it hurts.
Work it out Einstein, your IQ must be higher than the average Liverpool fan.
Ah an Everton fan. Sorry it would take me all day to find their stats as there are so many trophy wins, in the past 22 years.
GreatteamsLAMBO:
Oh jog on you sycophantic no-mark.
I have no idea what your inference is by saying “one of THOSE” is. I would question why you’ve let an online forum affect your emotional state to the point it made you feel bad.
I’ll say it again;
Someone asked why Spurs don’t pay high wages. I offered a perfectly reasonable explanation and Spurs fans, hell bend on being recognised a force in football, “We play nice stuff and are third you know. Please accept us as a big club ”, have got their knickers in a twist.
No-one has offered another explanation. In fact someone even posted stuff saying how Spurs were trying to increase revenue! This simply backs me up.
For what it’s worth Spurs are a good club, well run and have a decent youth system which I admire. They are a couple of steps away from being a real force but would need to pay higher wages, I feel, to reach that point. I stand by it.

Same number of league titles though, you can't deny that.Specialist cup team that's even lost the knack of getting to penalty shoot outs now.
How the once mighty have fallen

Making stuff up is not a good standing point for debate I'm afraid.

__________
Work what out? The '22 years' comment? Like I don't know what your talking about?...
My point is (and illustrated by There'sOnlyOneReds) is we've won plenty in that time. The bit that hurts me is the 6 years with nothing...
So 6 years and counting, not 22. Einstein.

Why would the owners at Liverpool sanction a buy of £40m when they have two other strikers with massive values?
Unless liverpool off load Carrol I don't see them in the market for another big buy.
As for spu ds unless he is willing to sell a big name player he won't have the funds

Quite the contrary. We've only began our spending with our new owners, just here a year. We don't have the debt that other clubs have and have quite a bit to catch up and spending is the quickest way to do that.

Just out of interest which bit makes me a fool?
Me saying that Spurs don't pay high wages - well documented.
Spurs ground does not hold as much as they'd like - well documented
Spurs not having a huge global fanbase - well documented.
You and I have been on 606 years I think. I think I remember you from the old one anyway but certainly this. I have posted literally thousands of posts on hundreds of threads that you've been on and you've come to this conclusion now?
Hmmm.

"Spurs not having a huge global fanbase - well documented."
What proof do you have of the above statement? And by virtue, which UK teams have a bigger fanbase? And based on your proven facts, please.
"Does sponsership not come under merchandising?"
Is that a rhetorical question ??
