Ok, you have simply provided the teams that you think have a bigger fanbase. But you fail, as you havent provided substantial proof to back up your opinion.

Sharron Lennon (U11892)

I hate to break it to you but finishing 4th once doesnt suddenly make you a big success story.

Indiana Patel the new Bill Kenwright (U11558)

Tick tock..how many years since Everton won a trophy?

You must be joking. Proof?

This is ja606 and I've learnt that you just say there is proof, you find it if you want it so much. That defeats the argument and then you can say what you want.

Although in this instance, I'm sure if you do check you'll find that they do!

Don't be a pedant. I don't think it is unreasonable to say that it's well documented clubs such as Man Utd and Liverpool have more fans around the world.

Feel free to prove me wrong. When Spurs get 40k to a pre season friendly in the far east I will bow down to you.

and I will make it easier for you, I agree that Manchester UTD, Arsenal and Liverpool have a bigger fanbase and Chelsea, just recently too, mainly based on their global reach but Rangers? and I would also question Celtic too...

posted on 14/12/11

So, if you say so, it must be true, ok.

Spurs are bigger than Rangers, that much I will tell you and that is based on the fact of my knowledge from working in the football industry. Celtic I would question too and see my comments regarding Chelsea.

So, its fair to say that Spurs are at least the 5th biggest club in England. Thats great and I am very proud of that. As we know, clubs pick up fans through media exposure, driven by being on TV and in as many competitions as possible and of course winning those trophies. So when a team doesnt get on the TV that much and doesnt win as many trophies or take part in those competitions, they lose fans to the clubs that do.

Maybe Facebook can give us a good sample for our “research”. Lets go over to FB and find out the top ten number of members of the official pages of football clubs:

10. Olympique de Marseille, (600,402)
9. AC Milan, (1,143,639)
8. Arsenal FC, (1,514,132)
7. Chelsea FC, (1,591,585)
6. Liverpool FC, (2,458,618)
5. Manchester United FC, (2,548,425)
4. Fenerbahce, (2,993,859)
3. Real Madrid CF, (3,698,480)
2. Galatasaray SK, (4,470,165)
And finally, the football club with the biggest fan following on Facebook is:

1. FC Barcelona, (4,601,294)

Give you a feeling of what you're up against here and if you don't shut it, I'll take quotes from caughtoffside and goal.com to prove my point.

Well, if there's one thing I've learnt from this article, it's not to post simultaneously on the LFC and THFC boards.

You heard any murmurings of any possible transfers in Jan?

Regardless of what you think of the source material (and TBH I think you'd disagree with it if it came of the Office of National Statistics as it doesnt agree with what you say) it is still far more evidence than you've been able to provide.

No haven't heard anything yet and I'm haven't really been in the loop recently... But back in London next week until jan so you never know....

Its no contest that Liverpool are a more popular "brand" in world football than Tottenham. If Tottenham sustain the kind of success theyre currently having for about the next 30 years then they probably would overtake Liverpool.

That's the sort of success Liverpool dream about these days

But talkrubbish I'm not the one making outlandish claims and then using a website, whose demographics prove that their main users are aged between 18-25 of which 51% are female...at least try and support your argument in a way that adults will take you seriously...

Last season they were in the CL thus raising their stock immensely. This season theyre top 4 with a good chance of staying in there.

These days? you mean a year or two?

If someone said to me what do you define as 'these days', i certainly wouldn't say more than two years ago. Would you?

I consider 5 years when you are talking about 120 odd years of history..
