Can someone explain to me why standing fans are a problem for teams? What harm does it do standing up and cheering the lads on?

because those who want to (or need to) sit cant see when somebody is standing in front of you.

"Can someone explain to me why standing fans are a problem for teams? What harm does it do standing up and cheering the lads on?"

I guess it blocks the view of people who paid to sit and watch...would you like it if you went to the cinema and every one in front of you stood up?

Thanks guys.

I think after reading all the posts we can all agree with Vidicschin.

Liverpool are a small time club, it has nothing to do with the fact that 12 other clubs have voiced their concerns with United's travelling support, it has nothing to do with the fact that the Police, the FA, Safety advisory boards and the council have all decided that it is safer to reduce the allocation, it is purely and simply down to the fact that Liverpool are a small time club!

Lesson learned, if only VC had said this at the start!

"f your stewards can handle Everton supporters of the same number, how come they can not handle United fans."

Again, I can only presume that Everton fans did/do not crowd the safety exits.

............

Only presume. No facts then.

............

It appears that way, if you cant handle 6,000 away fans.

How on earth would you cope if you had a bigger stadium and the away fan allocation was more?

I guess Liverpool have handled that amount of fans in the past, I also guess that those fans didn't cause a safety problem!

It is clear that it is a problem, it is not LFC's doing, no conspiracy, no tribal influence, just a clear case of Liverpool wanting to make sure that United fans are safe, what is bad about that?

Do you want United fans to be unsafe? I don't!

You still haven't answered my question.

Exactly.

So, why all of a sudden is it a safety problem now?

Ask me the question again, I fear it got lost amongst the other posts, I willl answer it regardless, I have no agenda!
-------------------

"So, why all of a sudden is it a safety problem now?"

I imagine that United fans are causing the problem now, I don't know the specifics, but if safety advisory bodies are telling LFC that United fans are causing a problem then I am happy to go with that, safety first and all that!

I actually think that United's travelling support are causing the problem...if they abided by the rules then there would be no problem, they clearly 'do what they want' and are subsequently suffering for it! It is not LFC reducing the numbers, it is a collective body that includes the police, the FA, the council etc etc etc, you know this!

I imagine the meeting would go like this...

LFC: We have concerns regarding our ability to guarantee the safety of United supporters, they refuse to not crowd around the safety exits.

Police: We cannot guarantee the safety if they don't abide by the safety rules.

Advisory Committee: We recommend a reduction so both LFC and the Police can ensure safety.

Vidicschin: Small time Pu*sies!

That is because there are not any. You would have found them by now, and copied and pasted the links. It is your modus operandi.

I don't reacall any issues from our last game at Anfield, other than the fact you were the better team on the day.

Okay, that question at last...

My answer is....No.

I'm not sure about your intentions here but that is my answer, do you?

I guess you do think that racial abuse was shouted, I also guess we will find out in time...your point is?

PS...You may want to clue up on the difference between racial and racist, I know you are a clever guy, try not to appear unintelligent...I got your back!

................

So you think the Oldham player was distraught over nothing then, and made it all up? What could he possibly have to gain?

I guess you also thought Evra made it all up as well.

.......................

I'm not sure about your intentions here but that is my answer, do you?

...................

Billy I answered that three hours ago when you first asked me.

And I did not have any intentions. I asked you straight after you asked me to give you a yes / no answer, which I done within minutes, instead of skating round it for three hours.

I am sure LFC reduced the allocation for that game in October! Again due to safety concerns, in fact I know they did!

Maybe your guys are getting it, slowly but surely!

Also, the FA have different rules than the PL, do you really think it is a tribal thing, rather than a safety thing?

Going by your clubs current reputation I would not be surprised at all.

He may be? He may have misheard? He may have heard correctly?

No one knows at this point in time, just because he was upset does not automatically mean he was abused!

I am a believer of 'innocent until proven guilty'. At this moment the guy has not been proven guilty of doing anything. I am not saying he is innocent, just saying he is innocent at this moment in time, if you want to say he is guilty then fair enough, what proof do you have? You know the score here, what are you doing?

Do you know more than me? Do you know more than the press? It seems so, why not give them an exclusive and tell them your info?

Billy, why is an innocent man not fighting tooth and nail to clear his name. That's what innocent people do, they generally do not say I'll accept the punishment but I'm not guilty.

That's pretty unique
