I'm sure there's a law made by the FA that a club has to give 15% (I think) of their capacity in the stadium to away fans? Are Liverpool allowed to do this?
My whole point is highlighting the fact that if fans misbehave then what is the alternative?
..............
You have no evidence of fans misbehaving Billy. We just covered this.
What we do have evidence of is Liverpool acting like a small club. If they can not control away supporters at their ground, then they really should not allow them in.
Yet again, this seems to look very poor on behalf of what was once considered a great club.

My racism comments were a direct response to 'bvb', who suggested racism was the reason United should reduce their allocation to Liverpool fans...I tried to defuse it by offering facts, that's all! As I said, let's not turn this into something else!
"I've progressed to the pipe now mate."
What's next? Crack?

In what way do United fans misbehave at Anfield, like they don't anywhere else?
There's plenty of evidence around that your fans misbehave VidicsChin, try google.

"So we don't really have any evidence that there is a safety issue at all then."
Except the fact that the council and the club have both expressed concerns. I'm not sure what you want here, would you be satisfied that people were arrested? Imo I think that it would be far better to remind people of what is expected, hence my support of the reduction, I don't want people arrested in order to justify this point of view, common sense should prevail, would you not agree?
This has just become a petty 'my dad is bigger than your dad' discussion...shame it started well...
so im off lads..
Safety prevails on the advice of the police and local councils concerns.
Man utd fans should get off their high horse, how many other premier league teams have ever not allowed away fans into the ground at any point? Only man utd come to mind.

I think that rule, i.e. the 15%, can be overridden if there are real genuine safety concerns. I would imagine that Liverpool cannot just do this without justification! Didn't City do it last round?

Okay mate, maybe the layout of Anfield is part to do with this, I do not know the facts, I do know that Liverpool have to have permission to do this and thus need to justify it. I am not sure a petition to the FA that states, 'we are a small club and cannot accommodate away fans' was part of that, I guess it was a bit more substantial and safety-minded!

I think it is crowding the safety exits, why they would do that is unknown to me!

I think that Sunderland have reduced Boro's ticket allocation in the past.
I'm actually worried about the safety of our players in this game. particulalry the black ones.
Going by recent history they will be subjected to racist abuse, asked to man up about it and then LFC will create new t-shirts and make 2 stupid statements condoning such behaviour

They did yeah, but since this is the second time they're doing it I was wondering if the FA would allow it as they said that the 6k allocation for the Anfield end was back on again.

True mate! Shame (again!)!
Elvis I'm not talking a reduction in allocation... I mean a full scale no away fans allowed for whatever reason..
Only man utd, but then again, if you knew your own club...
Must say it must have been quiet when that was implemented

I will let you know. Its about standing and not sitting down. (Thats the extent of the misbehaving at Anfiled. We dont throw bags of pi55 at the tiers below like the Liverpool fans do at OT). Problem is at Anfiled because it is such as small pokey ground that is that you have to stand to see properly at that end.
Many away fans do it. Not just United.

Sorry I didnt understand your post. It reads both ways.
Billy
Your argument there was a bit weak, you must have felt that while you were typing it.
The bottom line is, this is yet another bad reflection on LFC, rif they are not capable of providing safety to a few thousand away supporters.
What has happened to this once great club?
@Scouse,
To be fair this is what Billy wants when he writes an article. He has caught a few already...
Few thousand yes, a full allocation no, due to the proximity of the fans should full allocation be granted.
Indeed VidicsChin, what has happened to that once great club, imagine reducing the away ticket allocation, it's truly awful, I can't imagine anything worse.

There is one (yet still to be confirmed) of racial abuse at Anfield! That is one case in the last 2 years!
There was 2 confirmed cases of it at OT last year...I am not sure your argument stands up given the facts!
Nobody heard about the cases at OT because it was not highlighted, but given the facts and statistics, a black player is 200% more likely to be abused at OT than at Anfield...so I wouldn't worry about your players at Anfield, I would be more worried why OT has a 200% higher record of racial abuse!
Anyway, do you think that if United fans abided by the rules then they would be more likely to get a full allocation?

Considering that all/most away fans at Anfield tend to stand up, I think that the question really should be:
Were United not Liverpool's most hated rivals, do you think that they would be more likely to get a full allocation?
I genuinely think the scousers can't stand the fact our fans will be waving the 19 banner at the Anfield end really. I mean they gave a 6k allocation first time then a few weeks later, they've reduced it again. They're too soft to be honest, they gave it out with ther famous 18 for 20 years and now can't take it back since they got knocked off their perch.
