So if that is the target, why is it a greater achievement to be further away from it...?

We know that Fred. It is all their fans have to cling on to. Even you lot can still win a trophy now and again.
treble is a better achievement than both mentioned achievements combined
--------------------------------------------
No it isn't. How many trebles have there been in English football over the last 50 years?
Now how many Unbeaten season have there been in the last 100 years.
Untouchable season is the better and more memorable achievement. A higher points tally with always have the better chance of being broken.
The only thing better, is to go unbeaten in a season, which every game won.
Its better than making idiotic comments like no team has gone unbeaten before
That is idiocy at its finest
I hate how Arsenal fans say an unbeaten season will never be repeated. Juve could do it this season, and to discredit it on the basis of it being in Italy is English arrogance.
Also, Juve could go unbeaten and still not win the league. Just saying.

We mean in England. I'm sure AVB's porto went unbeaten for the season (or at least close)

A golden Premier League trophy is worth 10, so Arsenal have 22 league titles and hold the record.
PNE are the true invincible though... Won the PL and FA cup without losing a game.
That team also didn't lose as many games as the arsenal league invincibles.
------------------------------------------
How can you lose game and still be invincibles? Don't get it!?
Arsenal got 90 pts in their unbeaten season., same as Man Utd got one year and less than Chelsea got in 2005 and 2006.
I should add I think you have to take into account the type of football played. A team that takes a lot of risks, always trying to go forward in numbers, like that Arsenal side and many of Man Utd's sides under SAF deserve even more credit for their achievements.
Both are phenomenal achievements but the unbeaten thing is being done by the Biaconceri (Juventus) this season - yes i am aware of their technical "loss" to the Rossoneri (Milan) in a 90-min spell but they drew the game in extra time.
And it is even more impressive with Juventus in that it is in ALL their domestic competitions undefeated this season so that trumps Arsenal's by some distance if they pull it off.
Meanwhile, United and Madrid are en route to accumulating the highest points totals in their respective leagues despite battling the biggest twin threats in recent years ( a phenomenal Barca team and a City team packed with talent).
I agree arsene, that's why your team wasn't invincible
That is still pure arrogance to say it will never happen in England. Someone laughed at a United poster for saying a treble will never be repeated, it's exactly the same.
Treble is probably just as difficult, because as Jue are showing, when you are not in any competitions you can focus soley on the league.
Also, nobody has response to the fact Juve may go unbeaten asks still not win the league. Which is valid in this argument.

We are talking about 'The Treble'
even if Juve go unbeaten, ours is better because they've already drawn 2 more games than us and have 6 left to play. Arsenal

Mourinho, with his style of play could easily built an invincible team but no sure I'll pay to see them play
No it isn't. How many trebles have there been in English football over the last 50 years?
..............
Only one that involves winnning the three major trophies up for grabs.
Pretty sure the unbeaten in the league has been done before.
Off you run now, don't worry about the tail between your legs, the stupid look goes with the rest of you.
People say that going unbeaten isn't as good because you don't always win the League.
Why are people saying this when Arsenal did in fact WIN THE LEAGUE?!
Pretty sure the unbeaten in the league has been done before.

In the Premier League, do tell us when?
Actually since you know so well, please tell us another team in England that's won the top flight without losing.
38 games
37wins 1 loss = 111 points
38 draws = 38 points
Anyone suggesting the latter is a better achievement doesn't understand how theleague table works
Any team that amasses more points than Arsenal did in their unbeaten season have achieved more in terms of points. And that is all that counts
As someone also said above, Porto also managed the seemingly "unbeaten run" so it is not as unique as Arsenal fans like to opine.
Listen, it is all a matter of perspective. It is a phenomenal achievement to go a season unbeaten, anyone who suggests otherwise is being silly. But it is all subjective. I would take a higher points tally
