I'm with Superb's media agenda on that one. I haven't noticed a bias against Chelsea specifically, but Steve Nichol is a joke of a pundit. Most of the ESPN panel are.

The idea pundit's are stuck in the past is a little generically thrown around, but in his case it's absolutely on the money.

Just from the highlights I can tell the game was fun.

Whatever happens results wise this season, I'll be so grateful to Marseca for fixing our curse for insomnia football if we can maintain this. Have zero expectations anymore so being entertained is enough to satisfy me.

I've only seen the Bournemouth game so far this season, which I've heard some say was our worst performance, and I even enjoyed that

He was probably the most vilified player on here of all time in season one

Personally I couldn't give a toss what Liverpool through and through Steve Nicol says about Chelsea. I've seen that guy criticise and moan about us for years. Definitely doesn't like us.

I also contest his statement that "If you like proper football, that was a joke". So all our excellent attacking players was a joke ? Certainly not how I saw it, I thought we were good in attack and probably could and should have scored more than four having had three goals disallowed.

We won despite some awful goalkeeping from Sanchez and players like Jaden Sancho are looking good as is our attack in general. GK and CB still needs addressing but it's very early days still. Lots of positives and things to build on and improve as well

Good to see it's getting traction. He's an utter 🔔 end isn't he.

He's a character at this point. A caricature of himself for non-Chelsea fans to laugh at. He's basically DT between 2016-18 but on purpose

Yeah that’s how Brighton play. We adapted well compared to that Spurs game last season. Created many openings and pressed really well forcing them into those mistakes. That was mostly their first choice back 5 as well.

I think we should differentiate between what Brighton did and what we did. Overall we were definitely the better side on the day and we won the game by two goals. Could have been more after having three goals disallowed as well.

If Brighton played a high line etc then that criticism needs to be levelled at their door, it's nothing to do with us. That's their performance which needs to be analysed separately.

And yes we made some mistakes defensively and weren't great in that area. This team is clearly learning still. Sanchez in particular probably needs dropping. Fofana's defending and marking was also very questionable and he'll need to improve to keep his place.

You can debate which team was worse, and clearly that team was Brighton and the result could have or should have been 6 2.

Ok so Brighton were defensively worse than us and we won the game by a two goal margin even though it should have been more.

I think the team need credit for coming back. We went 1-0 down and nearly went 2-0 down. In previous seasons we'd have usually folded at that point but we came back to win 4-2 and we probably should have scored another two or three. I'll take that all day long

I won't take a defensive performance like that from us in any game. We do that agst better defensively organised sides than Brighton and more timee than not we will lose.

That was kind of my takeaway from the Bournemouth game.

Putting my armchair managers hat on, we probably should've made more of an effort to slow the game down cos Bournemouth were playing the high tempo better than us - we were playing their game & not the other way round. But I was impressed we kept going & did punish them when their battery ran flat. Good fitness & conviction on display there.

If we have played that game in 2019 w/Lampard when we were still at the top, I'd have had concerns about the immediate future. But in 2024 in the aftermath of all the new owners sh!t, I was encouraged by it
