Mr Chelsea

Will Hazard start?

And the thing about Joe Allen at Swansea is that he developed as a player to earn that 15m release clause and in all reality Swansea would be lucky to have him.

Compare this to Siggurdsson who was happy to sign for Swansea.

Hmmm... I'll check the fixtures first.

Didnt Allen sign for Swansea, hence you just paid them £15m , whilst Sig just had a loan deal?

I think you've just scored an own goal there, fella.

Chicken. I think he will. Mata, Hazard to start. Marin, Oscar to be eased in slowly.

Thought I think Marin will be underrated by a lot of teams, fans etc and he will shine more than Hazard possibly

Not really, if you understood what I'd written, Joe Allen developed as a player and earned that 15m buyout clause. Ie he and Swansea both knew he was probably too good to stay there for the foreseeable future.

Siggurdsson had agreed to terms at Swansea for the foreseeable future.

Not under rated, just forgotten that chelsea have signed him seeing as he was bought very early in the transfer window.

Players dont "earn" clauses, its just a negotiation tactic to protect the club.

Allen signed terms at Swansea, Sigi just used them as a stepping stone.

Ha!

Deluded thinking again.

He agreed terms and was set to sign until he heard Brendan Rodgers was leaving for Liverpool.

Had Rodgers not left he'd be a Swansea player.

So he's earning a few more quid at Spurs now, good luck to him.

is this thread still going

===================

Not true, otherwise Rodgers would have signed him at Liverpool. He saw Spurs as the better project, thats why he's a Spurs player.

Liverpool missed out on Sigi, so Rodgers went for Swansea's next best player (in his mind). Unfortunately for him, Allen had a £15m clause, so h had to spend £8m more for him.

redrob,

I know they play different positions but i do not believe BR would have signed 2 Swansea midfielders (although Sigi wasn't technically a Swansea player). The Allen signing only came about AFTER Sigi signed for Spurs.

we couldn't afford 7 so we paid 15.

Nice maths

redrob,

Well we will have to agree to disagree. The only proof we know of is that Sigi chose Spurs over Liverpool. Liverpool then paid £8m more for Allen.

On the subject of Allen, do you think he will be a regular starter (first choice)?

Do you think Henderson will fizzle out now then?

Whats the coo with Henderson & the fans now then? Obviously you were mocked for buying him, certainly for the high fee, but this was defended by the fact he has "potential". Is this still the belief, or is it all about Allen now?

posted on 13/8/12

he still has lots of potential, but with a new manager and his favourite player arriving (in Henderson's position) it might not bode well for him in the short term.

Do you think Henderson is a Rodgers type player or do you think he'll end up being loaned out down the line?

In possession Henderson is a Rodgers style player every day of the week and twice on sundays. Hendo's an ace one touch (but simple) passer and is spot on with accuracy.

That urgent, win the ball back in 7 seconds when you lose possession bit he's not even close to a fit. For now at least.
