Former deputy prime minister and Labour veteran John Prescott has ceased to be a member of the House of Lords, marking the end of a parliamentary career stretching back more than 50 years.
Lord Prescott had only spoken once in the chamber since suffering a stroke in 2019, and according to official records had not voted since February 2023.
The 86-year-old was first elected as MP for Hull East in 1970 and went on to hold the seat for almost 40 years.
The former trade union activist served 10 years as Tony Blair's deputy prime minister after Labour's 1997 general election landslide.
He remained in the Commons until 2010 when he joined the Lords.
Lord Prescott was dubbed "two Jags" in the press after it emerged he had two official Jaguar cars.
He was once criticised for using one of his cars to drive "200 yards".
He also famously punched a man who had thrown an egg at him while on the campaign trail in North Wales in 2001.
"John is John," Mr Blair said the following day, after pictures of the scuffle featured in the press around the world.
Newcastle United co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi are set to leave the club.
They took a 10% share in Newcastle when they helped to orchestrate the Saudi Arabian-backed £305m takeover of the club in 2021.
The husband and wife's share has since decreased to six per cent as Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Reuben family have increased their own shares.
BBC Radio Newcastle understands Staveley and Ghodoussi have now sold their remaining stake and will leave the club.
The pair have been instrumental in the day-to-day running of the club since the takeover, which gave PIF an 80% controlling stake in the Premier League club.
Staveley and Ghodoussi hired manager Eddie Howe in November 2021 to replace Steve Bruce and signed players such as Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier during their first transfer window in charge to help the club survive relegation.

A teenage tourist has been killed in a bear attack after the enraged animal dragged her away and dropped her 330ft down a cliff while she was on a hike with her boyfriend in Romania.
The unnamed 19-year-old was hiking in the Bucegi mountains in central Romania, near the city of Brasov, on Tuesday when she was savaged by the bear in front of her horrified partner.
According to the victim's boyfriend, the bear first grabbed the teen's leg and hauled her off the path before throwing her 330ft down a cliff.
When rescuers arrived on the scene, they found the snarling beast circling the body. The 'aggressive' predator tried to attack them and was then shot dead.
The victim's boyfriend, whose identity has also not been revealed, witnessed the horrific attack but was unharmed.
He told Stirile Pro TV that he and his girlfriend were climbing towards the Spumoasa waterfall when the bear appeared on the path.
A team of imaging experts, scientists and historians will set sail for the Titanic on Friday to gather the most detailed photographic record ever made of the wreck.
The BBC has had exclusive access to expedition members here in the US city of Providence, Rhode Island, as they make preparations to leave port.
They'll be using state of the art technology to scan every nook and cranny of the famous liner to gain new insights into its sinking.
This will be the first commercial mission to Titanic since last year's OceanGate tragedy. Five men died while trying to visit the lost ship in a novel submersible.
A joint memorial service will be held at sea in the coming days for them and the 1,500 passengers and crew who went down with Titanic in 1912.
The new expedition is being mounted by the US company that has sole salvage rights and which to date has brought up some 5,500 objects from the wreck.
But this latest visit is purely a reconnaissance mission, says RMS Titanic Inc, based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Two robotic vehicles will dive to the ocean bottom to capture millions of high-resolution photographs and to make a 3D model of all the debris.
"We want to see the wreck with a clarity and precision that's never before been achieved," explained co-expedition lead David Gallo.

England’s quest to end 58 years of pain and disappointment ended in failure as they were beaten by Spain in the Euro 2024 final at Berlin's Olympiastadion.
Gareth Southgate's side were sunk by Mikel Oyarzabal's late winner to leave England heartbroken again in a second successive European Championship final and unable to end the long wait for success for the men's team.
Spain's young star wingers combined to give them the lead two minutes after the break as Lamine Yamal's pass opened up space for Nico Williams to beat England keeper Jordan Pickford with a powerful low finish.
England captain Harry Kane was out of sorts once more and was substituted on the hour and it was Cole Palmer - on for Kobbie Mainoo - who raised hopes of another dramatic comeback with a composed left-foot strike after 73 minutes.
It was Spain, however, who snatched the win four minutes from time as Oyarzabal slid home Marc Cucurella's cross to leave England the nearly men once more.
England’s hopes of crossing the great divide that has separated them from the major prizes were snatched away by a superior Spain side on a tough night in the German capital.
The iconic stadium was a sea of white as the massed ranks of England supporters vastly outnumbered their Spain counterparts, in the belief that the near misses of previous years were about to end.
And when Palmer’s smooth finish against the run of play 17 minutes from time drew England level, confidence surged. Many will have felt that Southgate's side were about to mount the sort of comeback that rescued them against Slovakia, Switzerland and the Netherlands earlier in Euro 2024.
This time there was to be no escape, with England being opened up clinically for Oyarzabal's decisive strike that gave Spain the success their performances throughout the tournament merited.
And just to compound England's agony, Declan Rice and Marc Guehi both saw headers cleared off the line in the closing moments, firstly by keeper Unai Simon and then Dani Olmo, who celebrated like it was a trophy-winning moment – which it effectively was.
England's misery was confirmed seconds later, meaning that for all the progress and optimism of Southgate's eight-year reign, tangible success has escaped them. They have lost successive European Championship finals - to Italy three years ago and now an excellent Spain side - plus a World Cup semi-final in 2018 and a World Cup quarter-final in Qatar in 2022.
It remains to be seen whether Southgate stays in charge for the next World Cup, but it may well be that this proves to be one disappointment too far for England's manager.
Wenger chilling in background of Southgate interview.
Southgate and his players simply found, yet again, that they were playing a better side and now they must wait until the 2026 World Cup to have another tilt at success.
On the way to winning the Euro’s Spain beat every European nation that’s won the World Cup, Italy Germany France and England.
With heavy rain moving in across the United Kingdom on Monday and Tuesday, yellow rain warnings have been issued by the Met Office.
Some localised flooding, travel disruption and difficult driving conditions are possible along with a small chance of power cuts.
The cool and wet July continues to bring a rather disappointing start to summer for many of us so far.
There are signs of some warmer and drier conditions later in the week.
