Dunc, there is no Gundogan release clause. That was debunked earlier this summer

robb,

23 million would be a good starting off bid though regardless of any release clause or not.

The mind of some of our fans:

1. We are Man Utd, we should sign world class players.

2. If a bid for a world class player is rejected - We have embarrased ourselves.

3. If a bid for a world class player is accepted (eg, RVP) - Dismiss from memory and go back to point 1

Ronaldo
The problem with Carrick and Afro is both are too slow and most of our goals conceded were because we dropped too deep especially with slow defense thus getting overrun.
I don't get how the afro is going to solve that problem.

Dortmund need money less than any club I know! They're purposely losing out on £35 million by keeping Lewandowski for one more season and losing him on a free rather than selling him this summer.

Gundogan will leave them one day (probably to Barca) but there's more chance of us signing Suarez then there is of us signing Gundogan this summer!

He's only sarcastic to people who make ridiculous sweeping statements and bring down the quality of this site.

How is it embarrassing we went after Fabregas? He's a top player and the club thought they could get him. The club should be applauded for being ambitious.
--
Did anyone here ever believe for a second Fabregas was ever going to leave Barcelona to join us, especially for the bid figures we offered them?! Wasting 5-6 weeks of the transfer window when we should have looked at more realistic options. Mix that with the whole we could go out and buy a £70 million player publicly to the world

Fellaini will get my backing, but nothing dramatic is going to change with him being here. He wants to play as a defensive midfielder, so that's already not going to happen.

Moussa Dembele would have been a much better choice than Fellaini last summer.
Far superior player and doesn't kick opponents too.

Our problems last season were in DM so Fellaini will fix that. He will bring a bit more authority in there and allow Carrick even more time to pick out his passes and not have to do the work of two men sometimes.

Zaha is an exciting signing who should get people off their seats. Is he a world class signing? No but he will develop with us and has looked excellent in pre-season.

Wasn't I on here with you saying that Zaha looked like a fantastic signing? Difference with Zaha and Fellaini is that, we didn't 'need' a right footed winger, we have 3 on the books. He's allowed to be a good prospect and there's no pressure on him for 2-3 seasons to be delivering the goods.

The thing with our midfield signing is, we need someone now that can deliver and as competent as I think Fellaini is, I'm not excited by the signing, but then again if it was always going to come back to him, why wait till a week before the season starts?

Zaha looked like Gervinho part two apart from the assist yesterday.

Looking at this logically, the club must have been given every indication he would sign for us hence the time we put into it. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.
The good thing about Fellaini is that the manager knows him inside out so if Fellaini signed on say, the 20th of August, he could be ready to play for us the next day as Moyes knows where to play him and how he'd fit in.

Hey, we should be thankful we're signing a CM at all!

Lmao.... it is going to be a terrible waste. The only goodI can see coming ffrom it is he benches carrick and even then he wont be that much of an improvement. Just saddening we play in a league were being tall and winning headers have been enough of a reason to pay millions to poor players.

Btw if we are so desperate for a tall midfielder with decent technique why not go for nzonzi or rodwell or even play jones. They are cheaper and just as good.

I for one cringe horribly anytime we place bids for players who are at all talented!

Manchester United please stop buying good players, get Kenny in he won't mess around with big names.

22m would not be a good starting bid for Gungogan. The fax would be received and passed around the office, laughed at hysterically and then we would receive a reply:

"JAJAJAJAJAJAJA DAS WAS EIN GUT WAN JA!!!!"

Might as well sign Cattermole or Mulumbu.
