Hooper is a good striker. Better than anything we currently have and he had a great record for Celtic.

Was just putting his name out there more than suggesting him as a serious candidate although I think he might suprise a lot of people now he is playing south of the border.

Celtic fans loved him.

So what are our other options? There are a few lesser known PL strikers I like the look of. Norwich's Gary Hooper is starting to look the part since his move from Celtic. Remember how well Hooper played at Celtic and he has Champions League experience.

I just ignored that part

I'm shocked!!

Even Liverpool wouldn't have his name down as a transfer target

Sorry Superb

I'd love Diego Costa and Dzeko though i don't think they'll sell to us... Unless... That is true about the release cause for Costa

Ronny give Gary Hooper some time to settle into the PL and you might be laughing on the other side of your face

Would they have any of our current embarassment of strikers down either ?

I recently asked Pool fans if they would even consider taking Torres back and I got told in no uncertain terms to fack off

Also wasnt jose raving about yilmaz recently...

I think that was back in the summer but I certainly wouldn't say no to Yilmaz

I don't think he would even be that expensive relatively speaking so could be the type of signing we might be able to get in January.

Ronny as far as I know the Costa release clause is true and it basically takes Atheltico Madrid out of the equation.

As long as we activate the 32 million release clause and agree personal terms with Costa then the deal is done.

I think the only person and team that would buy a useless piece of trash player would be Big Sam and West Ham.

They did buy Downing after all

Ronny we wouldn't be able to give Torres away on a free. Nobody would pay the kent's wages.

I know Superb, I genuinely think that even if he played upfront for my Saturday team the opposition defenders wouldn't be scared of him... My unborn pet bulldog has more confidence than him

Ronny the problem is that I think we're going to be stuck with Torres until his contract expires.

The time to get rid of him and force his sale was last summer when we could have threatened him with not playing and therefore having no chance of getting into the Spain squad for the World Cup.

After this summer that same threat of never playing him carries much less weight and he could just do a Bogarde if he wanted.

It's time the club and player admitted 'this has been a big mistake'

we've put far too much in trying to restore the 'Liverpool Torres'.

If we did we'd be crowned in April don't see how you're excuse works for your lot, your an anti-football team now. Torres managed above 20 last year some how not his fault your gaffer loves a defensive team then ships your best strike talent out to Merseyside!

That will never happen Flash. The best we can hope for is that Torres is just sold this summer with as little fuss as possible.

If it means supplementing a part of his wages at another club for a while then so be it because Torres's presence at Chelsea is a negative one and he brings nothing to the table.

Arsene would just ruin Aguero/Suarez like he ruined Giroud

past it manager

Many of those goals were scored against crap opposition in the Europa League (which is probably Torres's level) as well as against lower league teams in the domestic cups.

In the Premiership last season Torres scored just 8 goals in 36 games. This season it's just 2 PL goals in 13 games which is nowhere near good enough.

17 goals in 95 Premiership games for Torres in a Chelsea shirt. Sorry but that is just shat.

The stats just get worse when you look at them. No away Premiership goals for him in all of 2013 I believe.

I couldn't even justify 20m let alone what we paid Pool form him.

What hurts even more is they bought a World Class player from our payment and please don't somebody get smart and mention Andy Carroll.........

To add insult to injury. Having allowed Pool to violate us in the transfer market once.............we then gave them the perfect opportunity to come back and do it again within 2 years of the original crime..............

I don't think Costa will even consider leaving la liga, he chose to play for Spain and rejected moves abroad to sign and extension for Atletico already.

He's a disgrace.. An absolute Joke in a Chelsea Shirt.

A joke from start and will be when he finishes, right from the £50million price tag to the miss against man utd.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if we did a swap+cash deal for Costa in January... We can only dream but can u imagine this board? And the stadiums reaction in the first game after this happens?

...one can only dream

Torres will definitely go down as the biggest flop in the history of CFC.

I can't imagine we'll get it more wrong than that in future years.

Then again with Emenalo supposedly in charge of transfers you never know

Since the summer transfer window closed we have been heavily linked with these strikers: Cavani, Costa, Drogba, Falcao, Higuain, Martinez, Rooney and Yilmaz. Apart from Cavani and to a certain extent Drogba I would be happy for us to sign any of them.

What happened to the Benteke...Superb?

You appear to have jumped on the Hooper bandwagon now *sigh*

Cavani is fantastic. Would take him over all those strikers that you have listed...blueisthecolour.

Costa's team has just progressed to the CL knockouts, trouncing the opposition and doing very well in the league.
Why would he want to leave...just yet?

None of them are going to move in January as club wouldn't sell.
